trinitytrees Posted May 21, 2017 #1 Share Posted May 21, 2017 we are looking to book mini bus 12 seater, we are from uk. Arriving in Tampa for cruise. We want mini bus post cruise for six days. Is it doable to hire mini bus from the cruise port and drop off in Miami which is our airport for departure. Any thoughts? Até Posted May 21, 2017 #2 Share Posted May 21, 2017 I rented a seven passenger van from Budget Car Rental at 513 S Florida Ave, Tampa, FL 33602 location. It is also an Avis rental agency and is inside the Embassy Suites Hotel, an easy walk from the Tampa cruise port for two of us and we returned to pick up the other passengers and luggage. It is usually cheaper to either rent from or return to an airport location when not returning to the same site, and this is what we also did. A quick look on their site shows a full size Ford Transit 12 passenger van from Tampa to Miami airport at $675 for a week in August.
Até Posted May 21, 2017 #3 Share Posted May 21, 2017 ETA: It actually may be a 15 passenger van, which would work better for luggage. I would call and ask that question.
garycarla Posted May 21, 2017 #4 Share Posted May 21, 2017 12-15 passenger vans are not very common in the car rental business and most places I have seen with those only do local. They do exist though. You might want to just hit up a few agencies online to see what you find. Hertz, Avis, Dollar, National for example. You might have better luck with 2 mini vans - which usually seat 7 people which would not work as well. The good part about 2 vehicles is that you can still do some things without taking EVERYONE at once. Just be aware of luggage room. We did a 3 seat Ford Expedition on a long trip once. Middle row was a bench, so it would seat 8. But, we had to pile luggage on one seat/position.
