How is the T-mobile service in Alaska?

We are considering a cruise to Alaska, but I had heard there are problems with some cell phone providers?

We were able to use our phones in all the ports, if I wanted/needed to. I didn't do much though, maybe check in on FB, or my email. But not really much. We have T-mobile...

We were up there in 2013, we roamed mostly through AT&T and had no problems with calls on Tmobile, but data was limited to where we could find wifi most of the time.
