Dinner in Cabanas

On signature nights in theMDRs, they choose one or two items from each MDR. In addition they offer a "carved item" (like ham, turkey, or roast beef) and a salad bar. Same for the desserts--one or two items from each MDR. On theme nights, the menu is generally 4 of the 6 offerings from the theme menu, again + carved item and salad bar.

I am not a bit sure they will run to the galley to get you something from a MDR. First, the items are available in the MDRs in a very limited time frame. Secondly, Cabana's acts as a training restaurant at dinner--both the kitchen staff and the serving staff will be relative newbies. Don't worry about that though--because the food is prepared when you order, it is actually better than the mass produced same item in the MDR and the servers may have only your table or yours plus one other, so the service is excellent. I ordered the same item in the MDR one night and at Cabana's the next; it was no contest. The item in the MDR was OK, but at Cabana's, it was excellent. And if you time it right, you can have a great view of the sunset.

We've only eaten dinner in Cabanas once. But, plan on going there again on our upcoming cruise in a couple of weeks.

When we ate there, it was excellent. A very relaxed, enjoyable meal! Dh's steak was probably the best meal he had on that cruise - one that he still talks about. Service in the MDR was lacking, but the waiter in Cabanas was excellent!
