Casino open during overnight stay in UK?

Anyone know if the casino is open during overnight stops in the UK? I'm hoping not.....

I not know for sure. I have never seen a Celebrity casino open on over night stays. Most countries want cruise passengers to spend their money off the ship.

So I'm not tempted at least 3 out of 12 nights.....

I can not say about the UK, but I suggest you ask about a specific port.

 

For example, the Summit stay in port for 2 night/3 days in Bermuda. The casino is open in the evening.

You can bet :) that casinos are nearly always closed when ship is in port. Only exception I know of is Bermuda where local parliament debated for several years about desire to encourage overnight stays by cruise ships. A couple of years ago they passed legislation allowing ships in port to open casinos while in port, but only after 9 p.m. and the cruise line must pay for a special gaming license.

Cobh Ireland may allow it . I was on the inaugural sailing for celebrity eclipse which overnighted and both the casino and shops were open while in port. There were sign in those area that stayed only passengers were allowed to use them due to local regulations

You are right, I do remember the Casino being open while docked in Bermuda.

Big difference between walking down a floor or 2 and driving 15 miles to your casino of choice. We only go once a week for 2 hours. Not tempted otherwise. But since we don't do the shows or most other evening activities, the casino does call.......
