emerald777 Posted June 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 4, 2017 Anyone know if the casino is open during overnight stops in the UK? I'm hoping not.....
simon stingray Posted June 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 4, 2017 Ok-I'll ask. Why are you hoping not? Attendance isn't compulsory.
bigbenboys Posted June 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 4, 2017 I not know for sure. I have never seen a Celebrity casino open on over night stays. Most countries want cruise passengers to spend their money off the ship.

Fish Lover Posted June 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 4, 2017 I can not say about the UK, but I suggest you ask about a specific port. For example, the Summit stay in port for 2 night/3 days in Bermuda. The casino is open in the evening.

edgee Posted June 4, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 4, 2017 You can bet :) that casinos are nearly always closed when ship is in port. Only exception I know of is Bermuda where local parliament debated for several years about desire to encourage overnight stays by cruise ships. A couple of years ago they passed legislation allowing ships in port to open casinos while in port, but only after 9 p.m. and the cruise line must pay for a special gaming license. sergeant655 Posted June 5, 2017 #8 Share Posted June 5, 2017 Cobh Ireland may allow it . I was on the inaugural sailing for celebrity eclipse which overnighted and both the casino and shops were open while in port. There were sign in those area that stayed only passengers were allowed to use them due to local regulations

emerald777 Posted June 5, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted June 5, 2017 You live in Las Vegas and you don't want to be tempted to gamble? Big difference between walking down a floor or 2 and driving 15 miles to your casino of choice. We only go once a week for 2 hours. Not tempted otherwise. But since we don't do the shows or most other evening activities, the casino does call.......
