Anthem - docking in Bermuda, ferry/excursion, & show cancellation

Recommended Posts

Going on upcoming Anthem 5 night to Bermuda.

- Watched her dock the other day on portbermudawebcam.com. What is the ferry/boat that is alongside her just after docking? It appears that a group of passengers gets onto that ferry, and then only after that are other passengers allowed to disembark. What excursion is that for / where does it go?

- Would just like to know beforehand what the procedure for disembarkation after docking in Bermuda is. Timeline, and exactly where in the ship (deck and location) you exit from. We did Celebrity Summit to Bermuda the past few years and we were always ready-and-waiting, and off the ship as soon as the gangway was open. Want to do the same this year to make the most of the limited Bermuda beach time!

- And finally, when we booked the cruise a month ago, we attempted to make reservations for entertainment and activities. The ONLY thing that we were able to book (something both available to book online, and at a time that we think we'll be available to do it) was Cabaret 270 for 9pm on the last night, wednesday June 21. Just got an email this morning from RC saying that our reservation has been cancelled, with a note at the end saying "due to the length of sailing this show will not be offered this voyage." Huh??? Anybody else have this happen or have any further info? Was looking at the dailies someone posted for this same itinerary from a few weeks ago and the show is listed on that final night.

We've cruised Anthem to Bermuda and have not seen a ferry boat dock alongside the ship.

Anthem docks at Kings Wharf and passengers walk to a Ferry Terminal about four minutes away. It costs about $10 pp round trip to Hamilton.

We saw Spectra's Cabaret during our 5-night cruise last summer. They often cancel your bookings and switch them around. I would call Royal Caribbean or try and book it when you get on board the first day.

The ferry you see is the complimentary one for Norwegian cruises.

But it was docked next to Anthem the other day, so I guess Royal and Norwegian share it??? Where does it go??

It is a complimentary ferry to St George for NCL passengers. That ferry has been leased for this year while they are building new ferries. NCL signed a deal to bring more ships to Bermuda and providing a ferry for their passengers was part of that deal. The ferry has only been operating for a few weeks now.

I will be sailing on the same trip and have not seen any cancellations or received notification of one for that matter. Usually on the last night they have The Quest game show in 270 and it may have been accidentally double booked.

FYI: (Just in case you hear different names used)

There are 2 Wharf's there at the Dockyard. When looking at the webcam King's Wharf is on the right side and Heritage Wharf is on the left. Normally the larger ships(Anthem/Breakaway) dock at Heritage Wharf. This is probably to preserve the newly rebuilt wall at King's Wharf.
