What to do in Bermuda on a rainy day

So we leave tomorrow for our cruise on the Anthem and the weather is calling for rain in Bermuda on Saturday when we arrive. Our plan was Horseshoe Bay Beach so now I'm thinking I need an alternate plan in case the weather holds and it does rain.

 

 

Has anyone encountered this and do you have any advice or suggestions?

Rain all day or really just showers? If rain, you can go to the caves & aquarium.

I can't see hourly forecast yet. It just shows 80% chance of precipitation with thunderstorms in the forecast.

What I have encountered with Bermuda weather is that rain forecasts that are not a day or two before are often inaccurate. Or that the rain will be an evening or overnight thunderstorm.

 

On a Saturday I would probably ferry over to Hamilton. Shops, visit the BUEI. (Bermuda Underwater Exploration Institute).

I'm not a real fan of sitting at the beach in a thunderstorm.

Bermuda is not the most fun place to be on a rainy day. :(

Maybe go off for lunch and a bit of shopping and then back to the ship. ;)

There are some indoor things to do. In Hamilton BUEI, The Historical Society. The Bermuda National Gallery. At the Gallery they usually have an interesting special exhibit. There is an indoor mall.

 

There is the National Museum (maritime museum) at the Dockyard.

 

There are several museums in St. George's.

I would suggest visiting the quaint shops in St. George, the zoo and aquarium, then have lunch at Swizzle Inn.

We had fun by hopping on the public buses, and just riding around the island.

We had a rainy day once (more than once actually). It was periods of rain. We took a ferry to Hamilton, walked around, visited small art gallery in Town Hall. Then we took a bus to Crystal caves. Beautiful! Then another bus to St George's where we walked around and then took a ferry back to West End.

It is nice to ride a bus thru beautiful Bermuda.

We went to Tobacco Bay in the rain. There were canopies to put our bag under. We had a great time. I think there was a thunderstorm when we were leaving. The beach was small enough and the buildings close that I felt safe.

Fortunately no rain as was originally predicted, but as already said there are lots of things to do in the event of rain. Sure no rain is better but I'd never allow that to keep me on board.
