luvscruising2007 Posted June 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2017 We will be sailing from Miami and I had hoped to stay in Miami pre-cruise. However, we would need parking and most Miami hotels seem to charge for parking. Any ideas of nice hotels that have free parking. It doesn't need to be near the port or airport just close enough for a reasonable ride on cruise day. Thanks
Doggielover68 Posted June 7, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2017 La quinta has free parking. Other than that, most hotels charge extra for long term parking. They have "park and cruise" rates. Sent from my iPad using Forums mobile app
eandj Posted June 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2017 Parksleepfly.Com and stay123.Com will offer hotels with parking packages. Look at the chains like Hampton Inn at the Blue Lagoon airport area, which is a decent area. (No guarantees) You really need to be careful and not look for the cheapest. Some areas aren't safe for you or your car.
JohninDC Posted June 8, 2017 #4 Share Posted June 8, 2017 As downtown hotels charge guests $25-30+/day to park only hotels out near the MIA airport will offer parking packages. Blue Lagoon hotels suggested above are popular, as is the MIA Embassy Suites and LQ east. Plan on a $30 taxi or $20 Uber to get back to your car. :( Another option is to stay cheap outside of Miami - West Palm area is only 1.5+ hours away, and even Orlando is only about 3.5 hours away -- and then park at POM; parking there is convenient, covered and secure. luvscruising2007 Posted June 8, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted June 8, 2017 We were planning on parking at the port. We would just be parking at the hotel for the night(s) we stay there. I have been thinking at staying in Deerfield beach area or Boca Raton. Hotels are much cheaper and free parking is available many hotels. I have a lot of time to plan so any info is appreciated. In that case, it's much easier to find a place with free parking for one night. There are many near the airport. Now that you clarified..there is generally free parking when you stay at the popular chains. And you can stay as far away from the port as you'd like. There are lots a of nice areas. luvscruising2007 Posted June 9, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted June 9, 2017 Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I will be researching the Blue Lagoon area. I won't be able to book a hotel for about 6 months so I will be studying which hotels will be most convenient, reasonable and definitely free parking.
