drmarg Posted June 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 7, 2017 Does anyone know of a reputable company that offers excursions to Berlin from the Rostock port? Alla the company doing the St. Petersburg excursion has a Berlin excursion but is not offering it for the Viking Homelands cruise departing Sept. 9. Any information or experience would be appreciated. Sent from my iPad using Forums
Rare Peregrina651 Posted June 7, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 7, 2017 Two other places to look for suggestions and recommendations are in the CC Ports of Call Forum Northern Europe & Baltic Sea and on Trip Advisor. The ports of call forum might be a better place to look because the audience is just plain larger, because it draws cruisers from all cruise lines. You can look through old threads (find the names of tour companies on Trip Advisor and then search for them in ports of call) and you can ask this very same question to more people. Rare PatriciaF Posted June 8, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2017 We did a bus tour on our HAL Baltic cruise versus its one on the train. About 1/3 of the cost. But we docked at Warnemunde (sp?). BUT--I cannot find any of the info in my email folder or my folder on my computer for that trip. I'm sure I found out about on the ports of call board referenced above. Here's one I found from a google search: https://www.toursbylocals.com/Berlin-ShoreEx-PrivateTour
drmarg Posted June 10, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted June 10, 2017 After extensive research it appears there are no available options to see Berlin other than with Viking's excursions. So puzzling that the other companies who do Berlin excursions, including Alla are not doing one for the Star 9 September cruise. Wonder if it has to do with the Star docking in Rostock rather than Warnemunde where it seems many of the other cruise lines dock. Yet I understand the two ports are relatively close together? I've been to Berlin but my traveling companion hasn't and would like her to be able to see it. We'll just have to see if we are able to book the optional when our turn comes.
