Red Rock Feaver Posted June 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2017 can we bring bottles of wine to drink on the ship from each port? Like one per person and pay the corkage fee? Can we bring fresh smoked salmon on board?
GJCruiser Posted June 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Yes and I believe yes. Sometimes they strictly enforce the corkage thing, and other times not.
Av8tor Posted June 12, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 12, 2017 As far as I know, you can bring the salmon onboard at any of the ports. As for the wine the answer is maybe. What cruise line will you be on? I BELIEVE that the Princess policy for paying corkage fees for wine over the 1 bottle per person is just for the initial embarkation port, not other ports of call. However, you can try to carry the wine aboard in a backpack or some other carryall. If they "catch" it as it goes through the scanner, they should either hold it for you until the end of the cruise or you could then ask about paying corkage... As far as the wine ... you can only bring on your allotted 2 bottles at the debarkation port... not at port visits.
GUT2407 Posted June 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted June 12, 2017 I've seen people take wine on at Port, I've also seen it confiscated.
easyboy Posted June 12, 2017 #6 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Depends on the cruise line. To be sure, we ask the security at he gangway before getting off if we can buy at port and drnk at stateroom without corkage. Most often, we didn't pay corkage. snowmc Posted June 12, 2017 #7 Share Posted June 12, 2017 Agree with several of the posts. We have sailed several different lines and ships to Alaska. It really depends on the crew of your ship. Several times we have had no problem taking wine/beer onboard while in port...other times, they wanted to keep it till disembarkation. Just depends on who is working security when you reboard. Good luck!

Hopefully this is sarcasm, lol. Rules are never enforced equally anywhere. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
