Rare Beamafar Posted June 17, 2017 Author #26 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Dave .....yes! I couldn't figure out how non-YC cabins had access to the bank of lifts. There is a heavy solid door dividing the corridor. The YC side has an exit to the bank of lifts and the other side has a different access. Elblarney - that is a question I have on my list to get an answer to. I do know that you keep the bands. Nikki........... sure thing! I did a tour of the Spa this morning and have pics and info to follow. I'm a bit slow at this as I'm only finding my way around using this phone so it's time-consuming with all the mistakes I'm making LOL For now a couple of pics of today's lunch menu. No photo of the delicious Iberian pig dish as my phone was on charge during lunch. I got it from the cabin when the fab desserts arrived! Millie I've just read your post. Will answer a little later. It takes me a while to compose my answers! Sent from my SM-G935F using Forums mobile app

jorisbr Posted June 17, 2017 #29 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Dear Bea, Your YC posts are just what we (future YC cruisers - for us it will be April 2018) were looking for. Thank you for the time and effort put into your reports live onboard, greatly appreciated. We have the Royal Suite on our cruise. I haven't heard or seen any information or pictures so any info you can get your hands on would be fantastic! Just let the information, pictures, photos and menus and more come our way so we can already look forward to our future cruise! edspec Posted June 17, 2017 #31 Share Posted June 17, 2017 We aren't on till next June, so hope all the kinks worked out by then. A couple things which I hope are changed: 1. All inclusive drink package not available in specialty restaurants...what do they expect that we do? Get the drink before going into the restaurant? What about wine and such w/ the meal? Or pay for them OOP :( 2. Hope outdoor grill expands its menu. Thank-you so much for doing this Bea. Have an amazing time.
ANNA40 Posted June 17, 2017 #32 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Hello, just a question I have not seen answered anywhere. The RFID bands are for everyone or only for the more expensive experiences? Can you keep it after the cruise? Thanks! Bands are free for aurea, wellness and YC guests , and for children under 12. For de rest of us it costs 5€... Enviado desde mi XT1032 mediante Tapatalk
kikki21 Posted June 17, 2017 #33 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Mmmm all calories free at sea eh Bea! Those desserts look yum! :D Please if you can also report what you do at each port stop. that would be great and whether you do it under your own steam or through MSC as we are still picking for our cruise and can't decide for some ports! Marseille is a tough one!
Hami1966 Posted June 17, 2017 #34 Share Posted June 17, 2017 Hi Bea - looking fab so far although I hope they get the dining room glitches sorted for the MDR before we board in August. If you get chance to see and post any MDR menus that would be fab. Very envious of you Yacht Clubbers!! X Sent from my iPhone using Forums
kikki21 Posted June 17, 2017 #35 Share Posted June 17, 2017 I'm enjoying reading your review of the ship, we're due to sail on her in November. As we also leave from Barcelona and are staying the night before (and after) there, could you recommend a hotel in Barcelona? Just wondering where you stayed before you sailed? We don't know Barcelona at all. Many thanks. We are staying in Barcelona pre & post cruise in different hotels The pre cruise hotel is Hotel Barcelona Catedral as I wanted to be quite close to the port & close to the Gothic quarter & reasonably close to Las Ramblas & not too far away from the Bocqueria Food Market. The post cruise hotel is Hotel EuroPark - a bit closer to the top end of the Ramblas & Passeig de Gracia with all the Gaudi houses plus the HOHO stop too. JUSRN Posted June 17, 2017 #37 Share Posted June 17, 2017 I sure hope they don't allow smoking in Top Sail Lounge. It's bound to affect the entire room. Look what happens in casinos on all cruise ships. There's no way to isolate the smell of smoke without being an entirely separate room. Sorry smokers....... Pingus Posted June 18, 2017 #39 Share Posted June 18, 2017 Great to hear from you "live Bemafar, and I particularly share your disappointment regarding items not being available at the YC grill. We're int total 10 pax off in 2 weeks from Genoa in YC. A couple of particular questions (As we're wine-buffs): 1. Is there a "special wines" list on board, and in YC restaurant? (Pictures?) 2. What is MSC policy regarding bringing wine on board if we find a particularly interesting buy in one of the ports? 3. How does MSC handle YC guests in ports where there is congestion to get on/off the ship? 4. Do YC guests have priority regarding reservations for shows, speciality-restaurants etc., or do we need to rush our reservations once we're onboard? Great of you to take the time to answer and report!

Rhea98 Posted June 18, 2017 #41 Share Posted June 18, 2017 2. What is MSC policy regarding bringing wine on board if we find a particularly interesting buy in one of the ports? Cruise Critic posts: Bringing Booze Onboard Bringing liquor onboard at embarkation:*It's not allowed. At embarkation, there is no food or beverage allowed to be brought onboard, unless it's medically necessary. (Baby formula, etc. is allowed.) Bringing wine or Champagne onboard:*It's not allowed. Purchasing liquor in port:*All alcohol purchases brought in from port will be held for safekeeping and delivered to your stateroom on the cruise's last evening. Purchasing liquor in ships' duty-free shop:*Any liquor purchased in the ships' duty-free shops will be retained until the last night of the cruise. Is this still the policy? Rare Beamafar Posted June 18, 2017 Author #42 Share Posted June 18, 2017 A few more pics. We're having such a great time with some wonderful folk we've met onboard that I haven't had time for much else! Today's lunch menu Tempura vegetables - they were really good - curry flavoured and some fiery spices! Mango cheesecake - so good I ordered a second helping! Rare Beamafar Posted June 18, 2017 Author #43 Share Posted June 18, 2017 Nikki - We didn't get off in Marseille or Genoa as we've been to those ports before and will be back another couple of times later this year. We're doing Pompeii tomorrow and Taormina from Naples with MSC. I'll let you know ASAP how we got on. I'll try and post the Spa info soon. It'll take me a little time to type the info up. I've got a few pics from there, too. I think you're going to love the Spa! Sent from my SM-G935F using Forums mobile app
