sidari Posted June 16, 2017 #1 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Just decided to take a look to see what cabins are still available on our December 23rd cruise and noticed that the UK website has once again changed. when you have loaded your chosen date and number of people travelling you then have a sliding bar where you can choose your cabin type and the given price, below that is another sliding bar where you can choose the Experience with its related prices. So for the 23rd December, a Balcony cabin is £1,449 pp, for the Bella Experience there is no extra charge, For Fantastica it is an extra £50 pp, For Wellness it is £220 pp, For Aurea is is £350 pp. YC is not available. Do other lines charge in this way these days or has MSC lost the plot ?
Hey Tina Posted June 16, 2017 #2 Share Posted June 16, 2017 Yes, all cruise lines charge for their services.
Two Wheels Only Posted June 17, 2017 #3 Share Posted June 17, 2017 (edited) USA site has also changed. I guess it's easier to select stateroom type and experience and the added cost isn't as alarming if it's seen as "just a few $ more.." As a side note, the Grand Suite 11001 is now listed correctly when booking but it is still wrong under "Staterooms" tab. 2 bedrooms/2bathrooms - queen bed* in bedroom 1 and two single beds in bedroom 2 and a pullman bed for up to 5 guests (Suites 1101, 12001 and 14001) vs. 2 bedrooms/2 bathrooms: a queen bed in bedroom 1, two single beds in bedroom 2, and a pullman bed for up to 5 guests (suites 11001, 12001 and 14001) Edited June 17, 2017 by Two Wheels Only
sidari Posted June 17, 2017 Author #4 Share Posted June 17, 2017 The issue for me is that when you get a price increase you will now get two instead of one! from the original cabin categories nothing has changed apart from MSC having the name "experience" which they appear to now be charging you for, this so called experience was already included in the old cabin categories. For example, if you booked an Aurea cabin it came with what it does now.
