Husky1987 Posted July 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 4, 2017 I'm looking at our September Adventure cruise and the first stop is St. Thomas. We'll be there be on a Sunday from 8:00-5:00 and from the looks of it, the Adventure is going to be the only ship in port that day. I've heard we'll be docking at Crown Bay. Trying to decide what to do and I think I've narrowed it down to three choices. I've read through quite a few threads in this sub-forum and can find some things about each one (which has helped a lot in narrowing it down to these three!) so I guess I'm just looking for some more recent feedback. 1. Ferry to Water Island, Honeymoon Beach. This was my first choice after reading since it's so close but what makes me hesitate is having to worry about the ferry situation going back. I'd hate to be stacked up or have to leave the beach an hour earlier just to make sure we get back to the ship on time. The Sunday Water Island ferry schedule is much more limited than during the week. 2. St. John On Your Own RCI excursion. Like this one since the ferry is close to the ship and we can choose our beach on St. John. We'd have to cab it to our beach of choice and back once on St. John. 3. St. John Half Day Catamaran RCI excursion. Love this one because I don't have to worry about cabbing anywhere. Catamaran to St. John beach and back. Minus is I'm not sure it's the beach I'd choose on St. John (Honeymoon Beach) but obviously any beach on St. John is nicer than sitting in my office so I wouldn't complain. I also thought about doing everything on our own, but having to worry about so many cabs, ferries, etc. and what time to get back is something I'd just rather not have to think about. I'm much more on the safe than sorry side so I'm sure I'd end up cutting our day off hours short just to make sure we got back to the ship with plenty of time to spare. These three options are (as of right now) a little bit more enticing to us than cabbing it on our own to one of the St. Thomas beaches (although we have discussed Sapphire and Secret Harbor). Some of the reviews/threads about these specific items are not very recent. Has anyone done any of these recently and what did you think? Am I over-thinking or under-thinking anything? Thanks so much for any feedback.
easyboy Posted July 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 4, 2017 We did your option 2 on our first time. St. John is nice. We just took a taxi to downtown for my DW's shopping on our return trips. It was near Crown Bay. Sent from my SGH-M919 using Forums mobile app
