Clarea Posted July 6, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 6, 2017 Check the price of a one-way rental car, it might be reasonable depending on the size of your party.
Rare Tapi Posted July 6, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 6, 2017 It's a 234 mile journey that can take 4 hours with traffic and the ever present construction. There's a bus service called Cruise Connection with service between the Orlando area and the ports of Miami and Ft. Lauderdale. Besides that, your other option may be to rent a car in MCO and return it at one of the downtown Miami offices which offer complimentary shuttle service to the cruise terminals. Kamloops50 Posted July 6, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 6, 2017 Another option is just to fly if none of the others suit you. Also the train between Orlando and Miami is posibble.
Flymia Posted July 6, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 6, 2017 I assume you are getting into MCO a day or more before your cruise? The two best options are rent a car and drive or a bus. Not sure about shuttle buses but Megabus and Redbus have Miami-Orlando service. Another option is to fly to MIA or FLL from MCO.
JohninDC Posted July 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 6, 2017 It is an easy 4 hour or so drive. We have even enjoyed an early breakfast, been on the road about 6:00, dropped the car at MIA just after 10, and been checked in and enjoying lunch and a DOD before noon. Good luck! :)
kazy66 Posted July 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 6, 2017 We did a similar journey last year, but from MCO to Ft Lauderdale. Found transport links to be a bit dire so hired a car at MCO and returned it to Ft Lauderdale airport five hours later, before getting a shuttle from airport to our pre cruise hotel for the night. We had never driven in the states before but had no issues with the journey, even after a nine hour flight from the uk Sent from my Moto G (4) using Forums mobile app
