barbatkins Posted July 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 7, 2017 i just watched a video review of the Escape and it commented that the smoking area in casino was an enclosed area....to help keep the smoke from spreading.... Does anyone who has recently sailed know if this true? Sailing Escape in September and I would be so thrllled..... expect that it can't really be true.. Two Wheels Only Posted July 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 7, 2017 FDR made comments in 2015 about partially enclosing the casino but it never happened..... "It would be 50% smoking, fully enclosed, very powerful air extractors and cleaners," Del Rio said. "The other half will be completely smoke-free." barbatkins Posted July 7, 2017 Author #5 Share Posted July 7, 2017 Looked at the review again...... and it says "thankfully, the Escape is set to receive the enclosed casino smoking area" So.......wondering WHEN?
Rare BirdTravels Posted July 7, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 7, 2017 Remember, when the Escape was first launched, it was a non-smoking casino. NCL found that this was not what their customers wanted. So, on November 11, 2015, out came the ash trays.

Sand and Seas Posted July 7, 2017 #8 Share Posted July 7, 2017 There is a small No Smoking section of slot machines in the Aft section of the casino. We spent a little time there, but our favorite machines weren't there. I just wish they would uphold the 'no smoking unless playing' rule. We often had a bunch of non-players hanging out talking & smoking by the video poker section. As that's the only place in a very large casino that has most of the video poker it made it tough to stay & play at times. That section has narrow enough aisles that made it difficult for those on scooters, then add groups of people blocking those aisles and it gets more crowded.
