For those who have cried about Royal's non-refundable deposits, at least they give you an obvious choice when doing a booking. On HAL, they only give the non-refundable price as their default. If you want a price with a refundable deposit, you must call. This is not even counting that their deposits are higher than Royal's.

You can book the same way as Royal, and cancel booking if you are outside of final payment.

I didn't say you couldn't, but at least with royal you don't have to call to get a price.

All fares are refundable before final payment. And they are not different

You always can book with an agent too.

I quite agree, OP. I find HAL's current practice very questionable to say the least.
