tyeomans Posted July 15, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 15, 2017 We are thinking about doing cave tubing when we go to Belize on our cruise next month? The only thing we are concerned about is what do we do with our valuables without them getting wet. Wallet? Phones? Cameras? Do we just leave all of that on the ship? Do they have some sort of area where you can keep all of that safe, or do we just risk it and hope nothing gets ruined? Thanks! supertop Posted July 15, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 15, 2017 Anything I think I need with me that I don't want to get wet, I would use ziplock bags and double bag things to be safe. You can probably buy better waterproof .containers.
bobandsherry Posted July 15, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 15, 2017 When we went we only took essential items on excursion. Any items with us were left in transport shuttle van which was locked. Sent from my LG-H872 using Tapatalk
Razor_Poke Posted July 15, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 15, 2017 We have an aqua pack bag for small things. However, last year when we cave tubed, we left most of our stuff in the van. The tour company had a good reputation and I trusted them. It was all there when we got back.
coevan Posted July 15, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 15, 2017 I would never put my iPhone in a zip-lock bag. Go to any sporting goods store and buy a dry bag. We never travel without it, something like this will keep everything dry https://www.amazon.com/Outdoor-Products-Pack-Ultimate-Sack/dp/B001AZNATC/ref=sr_1_5?ie=UTF8&qid=1500148474&sr=8-5&keywords=dry+bags
Cruisinmomma12 Posted July 15, 2017 #6 Share Posted July 15, 2017 We just got back today and did the cave tubing in Belize. We kept our backpacks in the van. They kept the van locked. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
cruisinqt Posted July 15, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 15, 2017 We use a waterproof cell phone holder that has a lanyard attached to it. It's big enough for my phone (iPhone 6 plus) and a credit card, some cash, and my cruise card which is all I need. We got 4 of them for $14.99 on Amazon. It's much easier just hanging that around your neck. We leave the rest of our stuff in the shuttle which is locked up. It was perfect for the cavetubing in Belize. We use them everywhere, waterparks, Disney, Six Flags, etc. We use a brand called FitFort which has great reviews including one where someone lost theirs in the river and it was found a week later and was still dry. I can attest to that. Mine wasn't lost a week but it was completely submerged in a pool for quite some time with no water getting in at all. :)
CHOG-LIFE Posted July 16, 2017 #8 Share Posted July 16, 2017 The cave monster has been known to break into locked vehicles and has a taste for newer model iphones. Bring cave monster repellent. Staceyface1 Posted July 16, 2017 #9 Share Posted July 16, 2017 You can rent a locker. I believe they have 3 sizes to choose from. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Rare mexicobob Posted July 16, 2017 #11 Share Posted July 16, 2017 We went cave tubing on a Carnival excursion. Before we went to the river they gave us lockers to put valuables. No problem. Nice excursion.
