I'm sooooo excited!!! We just submitted our reservation for the chef table. And I must say I can't stop smiling. I'm looking forward to this experience. Can someone share their experience with me?

Go hungry, and if you're on a Dream class or higher, it will be held in the galley (complete with a tour) Each course is artfully presented, and the wine flows throughout the meal. There are threads that have photos of all the dishes if you search...

It will seem like you're not getting much food because each portion is tiny. If you eat everything as you go, though, you will be stuffed before desert. They will send it to your cabin, though.

We've done it on Splendor and Dream. A dining room on Splendor for most of the meal, in the galley on Dream. I prefer the dining room. The galley is noisy.

Go with an open mind. This is a foodie's paradise. Don't drag a meat-and-potatoes person to this.

Best money I've spent on Carnival.

If you don't love your first bite of a course, skip it so you can enjoy it until the very end.

There will be some surprises throughout the evening which I personally don't want to spoil for those who haven't yet experienced it.

I feel fortunate to have it booked already for my next two cruises.

Enjoy!

I'm interested in hearing about this, too, because we signed up/received our confirmation for our June 2018 cruise. The current tasting menu looks awesome. Even if it changes, this is still supposed to be a great experience!

So worth it. It's been said before, but I will say it again. It may not look like much, but you will be sufficiently full, if not overly stuffed. We enjoyed every bite, even the stuff we didn't know we would like.

We started off in the galley, where we were given a brief tour, along with some appetizers and wine. If I have any compliant about the whole night, this was it. It was a bit warm in the area of the galley we were in. I didn't enjoy that too much. The food, wine and information helped me through it, though.

The main dinner was served in a small dining room off the main dining room. Along with the food you get a bit of entertainment. All very nice. We made our way through some crab, some duck, some soup, and a bit of sea bass. By the time we got to the final pre-desert course (for us, it was Wagyu Bone Marrow Souffle), I didn't know how I was going to get through it. Then, the pastry chef came out. Sea Salt Praline Chocolate. That's the name of the dish that pretty much did me in. There were three other deserts, but I could barely touch them. But, I wasn't leaving a bit of that chocolate on the plate!

Like it said. It was worth it. It put a hurt on me, but I survived.

We absolutely love Chef's Table. Best dining experience on Carnival by a mile. We have done it twice (on different ships). The presentations are so unique and impressive and we loved having so much time with one of the chefs who impart a ton of interesting information and have been more than happy to answer questions. The galley tour is interesting as well. Won't give away everything as there are a few nice little surprises throughout.

Absolutely go hungry! Portions are small but its a lot of courses. And expect to spend more than three hours, but oh its so worth it!

We've done this twice. My thoughts:

Be hungry. You will eat a LOT. Probably don't have lunch that day.

Take your camera, mainly for the food porn.

I'm not one to be concerned about what others wear, so I won't tell you what to wear. That being said, we dressed nicely. It is a very nice meal and felt like a special occasion.

Don't worry if you have allergies or intolerances to certain foods. They will find you the day before to check. One time they came to our table in the MDR and the other time they called us in the cabin.

I'm over here laughing because I'm wondering what top I'm gonna wear. Also it's nice to know that they check with you to inquire about certain foods.

I have done it three times now.

Original menu, the current Old menu, and the new menu that is being rolled out that started on the Vista.

All of them were amazing! I like the Vista one the best, but would be happy to have any of them again.

I will continue the advise to go hungry, it is alot of food... ( and when your wife is very picky eater, you get extra)

Also if you are a drinker, they do have unlimited wine. It starts with champagne, then a white/red. You can ask for them any time, and for refills... our last time was on the Elation ( Fantasy class) and the server was not refilling wine, dont take that to mean you cant have more, just ask if you want it.

Finally, be ready to be amazed at what they do to food.. My wife put it like this, "that meal was like going to an art museum that we are expected to eat each piece" She did enjoy herself, even though she is a bit picky. She also has allergies to onion and mushrooms. The chefs made special versions of each dish for her.

Have a great time!
