Arriving early @ Port Miami?

We have the earliest check-in slot for our cruise on the Escape in a few months. We're only coming from Fort Lauderdale, but if you've ever had the pleasure of driving in south Florida, you know that traffic can be an issue.

We're going to schedule our pick up to get us to the terminal about the time it opens, but if we allow for traffic and there is none (It can happen.) we might be early. If we get to the terminal before it opens, where do we wait? I'm assuming that porters start early because the Miami porters and the Port Everglades porters are part of the same group.

Thanks.

We arrived early, REALLY early (7:45ish) because we wanted to secure Vibe passes. We were immediately greeted by a porter when we arrived in the taxi and then waited outside the door to Terminal B until we were allowed into the building at 9:00a.m.

Hope that helps and that you enjoy the Escape as much as we did!

If you are very early, you wait on the steps of the terminal. A little later, you can get out of the sun, heat, and humidity and stand in the security line waiting for security to open.

If you are one of the first 15 or so people there in the morning, when they open the doors they will let you sit in the few available chairs before the security scanners... Then, when they start allowing people through, the ones sitting are the first ones through the scanners.

That's how it suppose to work.

The last time we arrive really early, people sitting were "pushed aside" as people scrambled under the ropes/ribbons to get to the front of the security line when they opened it up (vs walking through the zig zag line.
