AandBmom Posted July 23, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 23, 2017 We are considering booking deck 2 on the Vista. It appears to have the reflections restaurant above us. Thoughts on likely noise as we are light sleepers. We once had a pool deck above us and couldn't sleep due to chairs being dragged around. Another time we were under a restaurant and heard trays wish dishes clanking very early am. Just curious.....has anyone stayed in this area and can comment? wanderlust0713 Posted July 23, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 23, 2017 If you're that light of a sleeper I'd go with a cabin that is under staterooms. Or something like the shore excursions desk, not a restaurant.
firemanbobswife Posted July 23, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 23, 2017 As long as it's not below the galley, you're fine. The restaurant itself is carpeted. You won't hear a thing when it's open and it's closed at night. I have stayed directly under the MDR numerous times. Didn't hear a peep.
Rare Liljo22 Posted July 23, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 23, 2017 You will be fine if its under the Reflections. That restaurant is not used for breakfast except for the Green Eggs and Ham breakfast on the last sea day. They used it for Shore Excursion meeting points. Even so, I stayed under the Horizons and did not hear a peep all week from above.
Homosassa Posted July 23, 2017 #5 Share Posted July 23, 2017 The other consideration is if you are booking an outside cabin. On port days you may heard early morning noise as the ship is docking on your side or if the tender stations are being set up. It could be a problem if you are a light sleeper. This also applies to the dock noises on your side during the day if you are a napper.

Don't do it because you will have a miserable week.
Jevsy Posted July 25, 2017 #7 Share Posted July 25, 2017 We were moved from our cabin on Deck 8 to Deck 2 due to excessive noise from a faulty air con unit. And as Frank Sinatra said "Regrets, I have a few....." The cabin we were moved to was mid-ship and horrendously noisy from the bands playing in the Atrium! This was going on well past midnight despite a call to guest services. We were very unhappy as would never have chosen a cabin in this area, but that was the only spare cabin available. The noise was resonating down the stairwells. So although you may be directly under Reflections it may be noisy from the atrium.... :o
JaniceB Posted July 25, 2017 #8 Share Posted July 25, 2017 Do you remember your cabin number Julie? That would be helpful to some considering deck 2.
