Switching from assigned dining to flex on embarkation day - Possible?

We usually take Flex time dining, but due to Fantastica plan, had to be assigned. Chose early seating.

I read that you can request flex time dining daily, but wonder if this is possible on embarkation day. Has anyone done this on MSC?

Really don't want to miss sailaway which will take place during our assigned early dinner. Also do not want to do the buffet or specialty dinner on the first night.

Tx

Hi I am really interested in this also. Msc customer service insistent that flexible dining still in operation. If anyone on the ship at the moment or just come off please let us know what is going on at the moment :cool::cool:

I'm still confused about this because my booking shows the flexi early...but from what I am reading, MSC dining isn't flexible at all...I don't understand the difference between flexi and classic. I'm used to anytime dining on Carnival and NCL.
