petuniaflower Posted July 29, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 29, 2017 We have 2 connecting rooms under the fantastica pkg, with 3 of us in each room..3 of us 21 and over, 18 yo, 11 yo and 10 yo. Our agent said only the first 2 people in each cabin will get the vouchers, is that correct? I assume that would mean the 10 and 11 yo would not? Also, will the 18 yo get non alcoholic vouchers? Thx! For the 18 year old you can get virgin drinks or sodas.
wetwash Posted July 29, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 29, 2017 Every passenger should get the drink vouchers. We had 2 rooms - 1 adult in each room for booking but then I switched with my daughter so she was with her sister and 3 friends (17 & 18 y/o). All six received our fantastica drink vouchers - 2 alcoholic and 4 non alcoholic. Pick them up at casino after you board - but beware there was a little confusion with gerring ours -only some were there at first and it took a couple of trips and a visit to guest services to get it sorted it. It was within an hour or so and we had a great trip! And it is also a good idea to purchase the prepaid drink vouchers before hand to save the 15%. For soda the non-alcoholic ones are not really a savings though but they can be used for virgin cocktails, smoothies, milkshakes and gelato etc so it's still worthwhile! cruiseguyinorl Posted July 29, 2017 #4 Share Posted July 29, 2017 Our agent said only the first 2 people in each cabin will get the vouchers, is that correct? Just out of curiosity, was your agent an MSC rep or a TA? And no, it isn't. Everyone in the cabin gets some kind of vouchers age dependent. She also said the 10 and 11 yo would each get a $25 arcade voucher, so I thought maybe this was instead of any drink vouchers? Im just trying to figure it out so we can decide if I should buy a package before we leave.

I would ask the travel agent for confirmation because I'm not familiar with that type of promotion but maybe someone with young kids can tell you. They have a prepaid card that older kids/teens can use but the vouchers, even though you basically break even with the soda, are convenient! Also they sell bottles of water for four dollars and change at the bars and you can buy a water packaged save a dollar or so per bottle so that's not a bad thing if your family drinks a lot of water… It's cheaper than buying at full price. But, what I did was buy cheap, dollar store, insulated beverage cups for my family (although I believe I was the only one that used it more than once) and it was great to have a cup with a lid that I could fill with ice and then pour whatever kind of beverage I wanted in it and it would stay cold for a while while on deck or wandering around the ship! I even made my own iced coffee because the iced coffee they serve you in the coffee bar contains a shot of Bailey's and it's in a martini glass [emoji23] So if your kids drink a lot of juice maybe fill up a couple of those cups and you won't have to bother with the vouchers ! We asked our room steward (via a note since I never saw her), to give us ice so we always had a bucket of ice every afternoon so we could drink cold water or whatever we brought back! petuniaflower Posted July 30, 2017 Author #7 Share Posted July 30, 2017 I asked the travel agent and she said the first 2 passengers get 12 drink vouchers adn the kids get $25 arcade vouchers..so it sounded like they would be getting these instead of vouchers for drinks? There seems to be some miscommunication re the drink vouchers, as initially my agent said we would get 12 drink vouchers for dinner time only..which I dont think is correct..then I wondered does it count as 2 passengers, because we are 6 in 2 connecting rooms, so only 2 of us would get the drink vouchers, but previous replies think we should all get them.. wetwash Posted July 30, 2017 #8 Share Posted July 30, 2017 I believe the agent is incorrect and as all of us who have sailed with fantastica can attest you should all get drink vouchers good for any time and any bar (except premium drinks)! Enjoy the cruise!
petuniaflower Posted July 31, 2017 Author #9 Share Posted July 31, 2017 Ok, so I should assume for a party with 3 adults, and 18, 11 & 10 yo, we will get 36 alcoholic and 36 non alcoholic vouchers, (plus the $25 arcade)?
wetwash Posted July 31, 2017 #10 Share Posted July 31, 2017 Never heard about the arcade credit. Maybe that is a special promotion. You are correct about the drink vouchers though (remember pick them up in the casino and hopefully you won't have confusion like in our case)!
