stillabrownsfan Posted July 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 30, 2017 We will be staying at the Talkeetna Alaska Lodge in a couple of weeks. People have commented that eating in town is a better option. How far is it to town? Can you please suggest some good, not fancy restaurants? We like just about anything from fish to steaks 🙂
Mitch2016 Posted July 30, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 30, 2017 We spent a day waiting to see if we were going to fly around Denali, and unfortunately while it was pretty nice in Talkeetna, it was not so nice on the mountain and couldn't go. We ate the the West Rib Pub and Grill....not fancy at all and had really good burgers! Man vs Food showcased them some years back and Adam tried the Seward Folly. We had the Caribou Burger and it was really good!

We had great meals at all three places.

We had dinner and then breakfast at the Lodge. Unless you have a rental car it is tough getting in to town. The Lodge has a shuttle but it only ran 10:00 am to 5:00 pm while we were there. The food at the Lodge was excellent for both dinner and breakfast.

skiiergirl Posted August 2, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 2, 2017 The Roadhouse for breakfast and lunch. Latitude for dinner. :) The Roadhouse. That was where we would have liked to have gone for breakfast but the shuttle didn't run early enough to allow us to do it.
OhJinkies Posted August 2, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 2, 2017 I ate at Roadhouse twice. The food is yummy but be aware that they have communal tables. Sent from my iPad using Forums

I have no issue with walking, and since parking is a premium I've also walked to the Latitude. With no mobility limitations, very doable, in my opinion.
