Boycey Posted July 31, 2017 #1 Share Posted July 31, 2017 WE've booked the Western-Med Isles cruise for June next year, complete with Azamara transfers. The return flights are from Barcelona to London but not until 6pm. Two questions: What is the latest we could check out/disembark (on previous trips we think it was mid-day but normally we're long gone) We booked a private transfer from ship to airport (with Az). Can we arrange the timing of this to suit our schedule? Look forward to the expert advice :)
cruiseaholic78 Posted July 31, 2017 #2 Share Posted July 31, 2017 Azamara often provides the possibility to book a short excursion with airport drop off, maybe this is something you should look at. Rosalyn
Grandma Cruising Posted July 31, 2017 #3 Share Posted July 31, 2017 Embarkation is usually over a period of time with an earliest and latest time, so you can organise your transfer within that window, to suit. Look forward to the expert advice :) Sometimes there is the option for extended stay on the ship until 3 PM in the public areas for a cost $35 or such. However, this depends on many variables (port, departure time for next cruise, immigration conditions). There would be no way of knowing if it was offered until you are on board. If that option is available it is a pleasant way to kill some time, if not everyone should be off by 9 AM. There would be time to figure all this out once you are on board. The concierge will be able to offer advise and help with tour/transfer options.
Catchum Posted August 2, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 2, 2017 In the past we have used a company who collect your bags at the port and take them to the airport. (just google Barcelona cruise port bags) Then you have a bag free day in Barcelona and can either take a taxi or the airport bus back at a time to suit your flights. We booked on line as it was a little cheaper, the only challenge we had was finding their desk at the airport to collect our bags it was in the depths of the terminal. I will be using them again in December for our next trip (not Azamara this time I'm afraid)
