Sue Goodreds Posted August 1, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I just booked a cruise to HMC, St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk 4 days ago that leaves 11/11/17 from Miami. After booking, I saw FTTF was sold out. :( I've never cruised Carnival without FTTF before. What do you think my chances are of FTTF opening in the next 102 days? I've been checking multiple times every day.
tef43 Posted August 1, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 1, 2017 You might get it, you might not.
Pez&sheldon Posted August 1, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I would think there is a good chance. They would open up more depending on the number of diamond and platinum to book. I agree just keep checking it will pop open again before the cruise date. Have a great cruise!
tortuga1975 Posted August 1, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 1, 2017 It'll take some work - checking the site a few times a day, especially early. morning and later in the evening - but you have a decent chance of getting it.
Schoifmom Posted August 1, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 1, 2017 You are still outside final payment. I think that there is a good chance that some more will open up. Just keep checking :)
KappaLady Posted August 1, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 1, 2017 You should definitely keep checking everyday, especially on the day before, the day of, and the day immediately following final payment. A few will become available! Sent from my iPhone using Forums
skywalkr2 Posted August 1, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I have never not found it offered. Just gotta keep checking.
bunnyette Posted August 1, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 1, 2017 $20 to the porter at the terminal and your bags will be in your cabin before dinner. I had the same problem but when we boarded the Magic last September, we were checked in and on board in under 30 minutes...now we waited until 1 pm to check in. We were able to be in our cabin by 1:30. Didn't really need FTTF.
Schoifmom Posted August 1, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 1, 2017 Since there's only one tender port, I'd think FTTF wouldn't make or break the cruise. Hope you get it, but it won't be the end of the world if you don't. Right? $20 to the porter at the terminal and your bags will be in your cabin before dinner. I had the same problem but when we boarded the Magic last September, we were checked in and on board in under 30 minutes...now we waited until 1 pm to check in. We were able to be in our cabin by 1:30. Didn't really need FTTF. I think that these statements assume the OP's reason for wanting FTTF. Personally, neither of these factor into my decision to purchase.
jessment Posted August 1, 2017 #10 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I just booked a cruise to HMC, St. I booked our August cruise on Glory in early June and FTTF was listed as "sold out." I checked it daily (sometimes multiple times daily) and it finally opened up early July. I thought I was so lucky, but now I think they really did not open it up at all until early July, as there are still FTTF spots available today, August 1. Keep checking! Crusingdiva62 Posted August 1, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 1, 2017 my final payment on the pride for my July 16 cruise was 05/02/2017 and I got fttf on 05/23/2017
SAJordan Posted August 1, 2017 #12 Share Posted August 1, 2017 We cruise on Glory September 9th and I had checked it every single day at lunch. One day last week it was available so I booked it quickly! Just keep checking, it will open up. Happy cruising! Organized Chaos Posted August 1, 2017 #13 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I agree with the others who say keep checking. :) With just over three months left, there's still lots of time for more to open up. Whether it be from cancellations or Carnival opening more. $20 to the porter at the terminal and your bags will be in your cabin before dinner. I had the same problem but when we boarded the Magic last September, we were checked in and on board in under 30 minutes...now we waited until 1 pm to check in. We were able to be in our cabin by 1:30. Didn't really need FTTF.Porters are employed by the terminal, not Carnival. They don't have anything to do with getting bags to cabins. Not even for actual priority passengers. The only thing that greasing their palms might possibly do is to get them to place the orange sticker on a bag (that signifies a priority bag) when you're not actually a priority passenger. But even with the sticker, you still won't have a priority luggage tag, so the Carnival crew who do handle the bags on board might not treat it as true priority. Besides, it doesn't take bribing someone to get your bag before dinner.
gbearcruiser Posted August 1, 2017 #14 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I am 54 days out, I booked 7 months ago, and just now was able to purchase the FTTF after checking every day since booking. So excited! Keep checking, but it goes fast! I checked five times or more a day.

A nice tip to your cabin steward and show him/her a picture of your luggage. You will have it inside of 45 mins after showing it to him/her [emoji106] Cash is King!!!! Boozebabe Posted August 1, 2017 #17 Share Posted August 1, 2017 I am sailing on the Splendor on Aug 13, 2017. 2 days ago (which was 14 days before our cruise) there was FTTF available for our cruise. You need to keep checking often.

BallFour4 Posted August 2, 2017 #19 Share Posted August 2, 2017 $20 to the porter at the terminal and your bags will be in your cabin before dinner. Before we were platinum and before Galveston went staggered times this was the gospel truth. I still tip this way, and for many of our trips the luggage is at the cabin door after lunch. Don't care what the naysayers post, it works for my family every single time, and that's now 37 cruises. .
robbercatcher Posted August 2, 2017 #20 Share Posted August 2, 2017 I booked over 200 days out and it was sold out. Some opened up the other day about 50 days out and I snagged one. Just gotta keep checking.

Organized Chaos Posted August 3, 2017 #25 Share Posted August 3, 2017 Well good luck over 200 Vip already booked on this trip... By "VIP," do you mean diamond/platinum passengers? And only 200? Out of nearly 3,000 passengers, that seems low. But what do I know, I'm not "a part of it." ;)
