Ktravels Posted August 4, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 4, 2017 Just a couple of questions about the Equinox, does anyone know if they have Splenda on board? Do they have movies, either in a theater or in the room?
Rare Cruise Raider Posted August 4, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 4, 2017 (edited) Yes, they do have movies onboard. You can order them on demand in your cabin (free of charge ... plus, some newer releases you can pay for) and they have movies in the theater in Celebrity Central as well. We were onboard the Solstice in May (sister ship to the Equinox) and saw LA LA Land...just to give you an idea of the type off movie you can see. We attended while in port and it was a fun way to spend the afternoon. Edited August 4, 2017 by Cruise Raider
Rare cruisestitch Posted August 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 4, 2017 Isn't Spenda the yellow packet?
Rare Cruise Raider Posted August 4, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 4, 2017 Isn't Spenda the yellow packet? I think you are right ... I was thinking Stevia. I meant Equal, Sweet and Lo and Splenda ... my mistake. I think they do have Splenda .. not Stevia.
Sandtrap328 Posted August 4, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 4, 2017 The little packets of sweetner are about the smallest items you can pack for a cruise. If you are unsure that your brand is not carried, bring your own. It is not like bringing your case of Coke Zero or Diet A&W. I sometimes bring my Starbucks Via since I like the flavor better than the coffee at breakfast in the buffet.
TommyD3 Posted August 4, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 4, 2017 Were onboard two weeks ago. They definitely have Splenda onboard. The self service island at Café Al Bacio has hundreds !!!

NordicPrince Posted August 5, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 5, 2017 You've probably given a suit an idea on how to save a couple of hundred thousand by cutting down the number of sugar substitutes.
cruisin lady ca Posted August 5, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 5, 2017 We saw Hidden Figures while on board Equinox in'May. There were two or three movies shown during our cruise. I don't remember the names of the films other than Hidden Figures.
DogLover Posted August 6, 2017 #10 Share Posted August 6, 2017 Splenda, Equal, and Sweet 'N Low are all readily available on Celebrity ships... Just off the Equinox a week ago ... all three no calorie sweeteners were easily found onboard. No worries.
adam12wi Posted August 6, 2017 #11 Share Posted August 6, 2017 Just for clarification, the Splenda, Equal and Sweet & Low are the generic versions of each, not the actual name brands.
Rare cruisestitch Posted August 6, 2017 #12 Share Posted August 6, 2017 Not always the generic versions -- they had brand-name packets on Reflection in June. But other times I have seen the generic ones. So it could be either.
Lorey2007 Posted August 7, 2017 #13 Share Posted August 7, 2017 My last couple of cruises on RCL and NCL they had pink, yellow & blue sweetners. They were a generic variety and when I read the ingredients they were all the same just a different color packaging containing aspartane.
musik07 Posted August 8, 2017 #14 Share Posted August 8, 2017 Just for clarification, the Splenda, Equal and Sweet & Low are the generic versions of each, not the actual name brands. Name brand Splenda on the equinox last week. I have a severe reaction to aspartame so I am very careful about using artificial sweeteners (which I rarely do) and I read all of the packets religiously. Some companies package aspartame based sweetener in pink, yellow and blue packets, but they are all the same. If I consume any I end up with a migraine that lasts for days so I am very careful! GordonJasmine Posted August 8, 2017 #16 Share Posted August 8, 2017 I don't trust any artificial sweetener so I always bring a small container of Stevia powder with me.
jacen Posted August 8, 2017 #17 Share Posted August 8, 2017 I my self,am very fussy, always bring my own goodies aboard, jams, instant coffee mixes, ketchup, sugar, mustard, etc, etc. My D/H says I am out of my mind, but I know what I enjoy,I only like chunky P/B & the P/B on board just does not make me happy,so I may start to bring some Skippy along on our next cruise,I don't use Splenda or Stevia, bring your own,it does not weigh that much,so carry it !
