Rail travel between Southampton and London Waterloo 5-28 August 2017

This may be of interest for those of you planning to travel between London and Southampton by rail until 28th August 2017. There is major work being carried out at Waterloo station. This will result in fewer trains running and delays can also be expected.

The Slower and Longer Southern Trains service from London Victoria are not affected, However they quite often have industrial action regarding the dispute with Their Drivers having to close the doors and the On Board Supervisor role, if there is one on board the train.

True, but they are likely to be more crowded as advice being given out is to avoid Waterloo if possible. May not be too much of a problem for boarding in Southampton but could be more of an issue leaving London.
