bradboy Posted August 7, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Will be on Vista and plan is to rent a car on 2nd street as soon as we disembark. From There head to FLL to the Everglades for the air boat one hour ride. Grab lunch then head to airport for a 245 checkin for our 445 flight (after return car) Is there enough time for everything? As long as there are no delays getting off the ship early. It could be crowded at car rental, for a little delay. Either way you will have a car and as long as you watch the time you should be fine. Remember to give yourself a little room for error on the way back to the airport, in case you encounter a traffic delay. The cruise line offer this as a post cruise tour with the airport drop as well. Doing it yourself you will be saving some money. have a great cruise
saraet4464 Posted August 7, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Make sure you have good ear plugs for the air boat ride. 😀 Sent from my SM-T810 using Forums mobile app
Doggielover68 Posted August 7, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 7, 2017 I believe there is a carnival excursion for that if you look at the Miami excursions. The cost may end up being pretty close and you won't have to worry about the rental car. It's at least worth looking into. HawkIVette Posted August 7, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 7, 2017 Just a question.......how much are you really going to save by renting a car, pay for gas, time to drive and make sure you guarentee you get to the airport in time versus just buying the excursion through Carnival? It's doable. Unless you have already checked the practical side of it, you may want to consider the ship's airport transfer & tour beyond just the pricing, but convenience as well. bradboy Posted August 7, 2017 Author #10 Share Posted August 7, 2017 1)Ive looked at lots of reviews on it and read where the transfer will actually go back to Miami before FLL. 2) dont want to have to wait as a group 3) if it rains we can do something else 4) we can have lunch without having it at the airboat place, with 2 boys drive thru is good Thanks for the tips, especially the ear plugs
