Changing a "guarantee cabin"

Recommended Posts

Hi, has anyone from NZ/Aust sailed Celebrity and ever managed to change a guarantee room they have been allocated. I have read that they can change to the same cabin type/class in America but it is with some difficulty in the UK. I just wondered what the position would be here, down under. Also wondering if you could swap for a lower grade if you were upgraded and given a guarantee in another class that you didn't want. Some of the Aqua class rooms are in noisy areas of the ship and if I went for a CC guarantee, I wouldn't necessarily want to be upgraded to one of these Aqua rooms. Just weighing up the pros and cons of guarantees.

Not sure about NZ, but for bookings in Australia, they're strict with the no cabin changes at all rule. Not sure why, as it isn't disadvantaging them aside from a bit of admin and they could even use it as a revenue opportunity - we know how much they love those!

In any case, they put this explicit wording in their terms which they rely on for anyone who wants to request a move:

"However, the exact grade, number and location of the stateroom on the ship will be allocated by us (at our discretion) and at any time up until checking in at the Port. Once your GTY stateroom has been allocated to you, we are unable to accept any changes requested by you. "

Oh, and in respect of the other questions, no downgrade is offered/available either. And if you book a CC guarantee, it's very unlikely you'd get an Aqua. They put guarantees on those as well if they need, and there's a large number of CCs available so it's unlikely they'd all be gone but Aquas aren't.

There we go, asked and answered, hope we helped [emoji41]

Enjoy your Celebrity cruise, don't stress the small stuff, we had an Aqua room and absolutely loved it btw. Solstice is a magnificent ship.

You have a tree in your foyer at home? ;p

No and I don't have someone bringing me drinks every time I flash a smile and give a nod either but it still feels like home. It is as in the Castle, 'the vibe' of it. I can just feel the serenity.:D
