What fun to read your posts. I like your sense of humor. We will be in an owners suite on POAM 1/21. Will look into the majic bullet. What are your suggestions for your fruit drinks if I may ask.:)

Just got home and unpacked our luggage. Thank god we're off tomorrow. Getting off the ship today was a breeze. We met Claudio in Aqua at 10:00am, he led us thru Aqau then Impressions and then the casino and by the Stardust and off the gangway.and we were off the ship by 10:10am and across 12th Avenue by 10:25am waiting to be picked up.

 

2nd Martini Clinic update. We had a nice crowd for the clinic and Benny made 4 martinis for us; The Kurrant Affair, The Washington Apple (with Seagrams 7, no vodka), the Lemon Grove (I liked that one) & the Chocolate Expresso.

Sorry to say, the day of the 2 for 1 is over. The 10oz martini is gone. The buy one helmet of beer and get one free is gone.

 

The bar setup is looking better and better.

I got the pina colada mix from the butler. It's same they use in the bars. You can get any of the mixers.

The Virgin Gorda was nice, but the time at the beach & caves was short. First you had to take a open bus to the boat, then a 45 minute boat ride to Virgin Gorda, then another open bus ride to the Baths, you only get about 1 1/2 hours to enjoy the Baths & beach. You are traveling more than enjoying.

Ah, the Memory Clinic. We both can remember everything we did at the clinic. When I say 3, my wife says Tree, Cars, Red Cars, Porsche. We can do 1-10. It's called the PEG system and linking. Now we have to figure out how to apply it in life. I do remember that If I gave him $50, he would give me a CD of how to do it.

The blender (Magic Bullet) worked our great. We used 2 fruit baskets up. You can blend almost anything, add some mix and some booze and it's fantastic!

This question is a little odd, but did you mean the "memory" lecturer sold a lecture on CD for $50? I've seen 15 dlr CD's by singers or magicians or comedians, but never something quite that high. I wonder how many people bought them and then couldn't remember the cost.;)

 

Did you have a chance to meet Hugo?

 

By the way, I don't know Captain Hoydal but can certainly say, after 6 trips on the DAwn, that Captain Peterstam is totally professional and keeps his pax safe at all times. He's also a heck of a nice guy. :D I'm sure Captain Hoydal is excellent as well.

Hi! I'm Monty's wife. I just read his day to day's now for the first time. I don't think I quite enjoyed his commentary as much as most of you. Especially the "colonic tonic" references. I agree that was more then you needed to know. We really did have a fab time. The weather was great and seeing all our friends again was special.

 

I did notice throughout the cruise they were pushing the new bonus rewards program. Daily meetings and invites to get passengers to sign up. I'm not too impressed. This new program does not reward for NCL loyalty. They want your money upfront before booking a specific cruise in exchange for some VIP perks and resort discounts. I'd be interested to hear how others feel once they've listened to the sales pitch.

Welcome Home. Bet you were glad to miss all the miserable weather while you were gone.

 

Sorry to hear the buy 1 get 1 free bucket of beers on the Dawn is gone. We would hit the Star Bar after 11pm just to keep the fridge stocked. Oh well, DH will have to settle for cocktails on the balcony next cruise instead of beer.

 

Glad to read all the postings. It's been fun.

Mr. Macman,

We got to the pier at 11:20am. It was a madhouse. We went up to the Latitudes area and had to wait until about 12:15 for the suites to be called. We were in our cabin by 12:45pm.

 

The ship left late, we didn't leave the pier until 5:45pm. They were still refueling.

Hope the upsell fairy is good to you also. Claudio told us that one of the GV is sold to a German couple for this current cruise for get this, $34,000. No upsells in Europe.

 

Claudio will be on vacation when you sail, but Alex will be back.

Yes the CD's were $50.00. It's probably the only real thing I really remember from the clinic.

We met Hugo at the CC meeting. He gave us his business card incase we needed his help. We had a great cruise. Great weather, nice seas, and great company.

Monty, thanks so much for the info. And please forgive one last question on the subject! So ... to make the pina coladas, you blend the drink mix, some fresh fruit, some rum, and some ice. And presto, YUMMY! Right?

 

And add prunes for a colonic tonic. (Sorry, Mrs Monty, couldn't resist!)

That's correct. Take that useless fruit bowl and now we can do something with it. I made pear, mango, papaya, apple, banana & kiwi coladas. Even experimented with grapes. I blended them up & added vodka and sprite. We used up two bowls of fruit.

 

The Magic Bullet paid for itself on one cruise.

 

You can't blend the colonic tonic, it's TOO messy.

Hi Monte and Diane. Marty and Gwen .Glad you guys got home safely. It really did stink having to leave that ship. We really want to thank you for the hospitality on Saturday night. You guys are a class act. What a great sending off party you gave us. After all those Martini's and other drinks we really needed that food you got for us. That was awesome. Glad you enjoyed the anchor bar sauce, you really put it to good use. I'll have to try that. Both Martini nights were the best nights on the ship although you know Gwen doesn't remember the first night. YOU ,Monty were a lucky man to have Carman around for 10 days. Sorry Diane it's a man thing. The only complaint I have is the 24oz Porterhouse @ Cagneys. Both mine and my friend Larrys were horrible and I had other people tell me the same thing. Gwen's surf and turf was very good though. Maybe we will see you again sometime and I hope for nothing but the best for you and Diane.

P.S. Gwen is the best looking mailperson EVER! Thanks Guys

We signed up on the first day for the 250 minutes for $100.00 + 3.95 fee, then got 30 minutes free for being a Latitudes member. Still had 7 minutes left.

I would write my blub in Word and then copy & paste it to the thread. Sure saves time and money. My wife would do her e-mails the same way.

 

We also bring a USB memory stick to save our stuff to bring home.
