My husband is a musician. His average bedtime is between 2-4. On our previous cruises, we'd come back to the cabin around 1, maybe 2. We'd order room service and then he'd go back out to the bars, have a drink, talk to people, take pictures. I need a little more sleep than him! LOL! We were always at the piano bar which does stay open late. We met the friendliest bartenders too. For our upcoming cruise on 8/21, I bought the Cheers package so I shouldn't be surprised by his very late night drinks like last time!;p

I'm a night owl too , during my cruise in january they played late night movies on the large screen above the pool on the valor. The comedian was great and they play the live music pretty late too.

I definitely danced at the club and had 2AM pizzas at least one night too. Depending on how you feel about the ocean it can be awesome just looking out ovee it when it's dark and quiet. Karaoke is great too but it seemed to end a bit early.

If you are lucky and have a balcony the best thing to do is go soak in the glorious moon light. If you don't have a balcony you can always go find a tranquil spot on one of the top decks. Unless you are falling down drunk the crew will leave you alone.

I find myself setting outside at least a few times a night when I wake up.

I prefer the quiet of the ship and the ocean vs a club..

Can you smoke in their nightclubs and what other rules do they have in there

Smoking is permitted in the dance club (disco) and the casino but not in the piano bar or comedy club. I'm not sure what other "rules" you would be referring to. They do require you to be 18+ to go into the dance club after 11 PM (security will check I.D.'s), but that's the only rule I know of.

Since you mentioned in another one of your threads that you would be on the Sunshine, no, smoking is not permitted. On the Sunshine, their main show theater turns into the nightclub at night. There is no separate nightclub.

From Carnival's website

Carnival Sunshine

Cigarette smoking (including electronic cigarettes and personal vaporizers) are permitted in the following areas:

  • Sunshine Casino: Smoking is permitted while playing at designated slot machines and table games.
  • Sunshine Casino Bar: Smoking is permitted in designated area.
  • Outdoors: Smoking is permitted in designated areas on Deck 3 (port side) and Deck 10 (starboard side, midship).
  • Note: Cigar and tobacco pipes are only permitted in the above designated outdoor smoking areas on Deck 3 and Deck 10.
