CeeJayPonz Posted August 11, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 11, 2017 I've been on many cruises but can't remember if there are handicap chairs in the showers in the cabins. If not, how do I get one put in our cabin?
grandmacani Posted August 11, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 11, 2017 If you have a handicap accessible cabin the shower is larger and there is a seat fixed to the wall . It folds against the wall for those cabin mates that don't need it.
mosaic_mom Posted August 11, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 11, 2017 If you are in a standard cabin call special needs or ask your cabin steward to bring you a shower chair. Sent from my iPhone using Forums

easyboy Posted August 12, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 12, 2017 I've been on many cruises but can't remember if there are handicap chairs in the showers in the cabins. If not, how do I get one put in our cabin? If you're not in a HA cabin, you can ask the steward if a chair or stool is available.
dmdiver Posted August 12, 2017 #7 Share Posted August 12, 2017 We were assigned a handicap cabin on Freedom once & there was a flip down seat in the shower. Loved the bathroom, as it was huge! Only downside was there was less closet space. We didn't take any formal wear, so we managed just fine.
Ziggy7 Posted August 12, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 12, 2017 Yes, they are very good at proving shower chairs in regular cabins if needed, handicap rooms have them fold down from the wall with detachable shower heads , awesome cabins for those who need them! LambKnuckles Posted August 13, 2017 #9 Share Posted August 13, 2017 When you have a balcony, the table from the balcony can be used as a stool, but it's not as tall as a chair. I know for me, the height is important, since me knees can be a problem. Just ask FIRST THING -- or write to Special Needs and request one. I've copied the info from the Carnival.com site: If you need general information about accessibility before you cruise, please call our Guest Access team at 1-800-438-6744 ext.70025 or email specialneeds@carnival.com. CeeJayPonz Posted August 14, 2017 Author #11 Share Posted August 14, 2017 Thanks for all of your answers. If the other couple go with us, I will request an HA cabin.
