Thank you all for your considerate replies. Although Holland American seem to offer a lot of cruise for the money, based on your replies, I think I will look for another cruise that better reflects our desires and interests. God bless.

If you are considering a very port intensive cruise when you need to be early to bed and early to rise, HAL could be a good choice.

HAL works for us when we don't want to be temped by late night entertainment. :D

We were on hal last year from Barcelona. My daughter were to bed early due to the many ports, I stayed up. I found things to do. I dance. We were on the Eurodam, loved that ship. Would have went back but the ship wasn't going where we wanted.
