yetidog Posted August 18, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 18, 2017 Last minute wedding anniversary reservation. Got a "guaranteed" (but not specified) oceanview room. (1) I know what it means but I wonder what I will get? (2) I understand lots of kiddos on Liberty and have nothing against that but am guessing that school starting will make a dent in that demographic Would I be wrong? (3) Confused about restaurants. I assume main dining area complementary but how many others? I,m easy to please food-wise. (4) Excursions--do all the stops just have an easy to reach beach where I can sit on and drink a beer or two?
Clarea Posted August 18, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 18, 2017 You will likely get whatever the minimum stateroom is for your guarantee. September starts the low season for RC cruises. Food venues with no extra charge: Main Dining Room, Windjammer (buffet), Cafe Promenade, Sorrento's.
39august Posted August 18, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 18, 2017 What itinerary, re: your beach question? Easy taxis to beaches on Cozumel. Not at Falmouth nor Roatan. Easy taxis to beaches from Grand Caymen. No beaches, except man-made island ship tour, from Belize City.
ToddnMichelle Posted August 18, 2017 #4 Share Posted August 18, 2017 Schools are starting up this week here in TX, i would expect fewer kids than normal given this time of year.
dplusd Posted August 18, 2017 #5 Share Posted August 18, 2017 In addition to the free eating venues, Liberty has specialty restaurants for a fee. Chops (steak) $35-40, Giovanni's (Italian) $21-$35, Sabor (Mexican) $25, and Johnny Rockets (burgers) $8. Prices vary by cruise so check your cruise planner. There should also be promotions in your cruise planner for specialty dining. Room service now comes with a $7.95 per order charge except for continental breakfast, which is still free...tip is appropriate.
vhedrick Posted September 6, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 6, 2017 Last year we did a guaranteed junior suite and got what we felt was the best room on the ship we were on! It was on the very back corner with a HUGE balcony (enough room for two lounge chairs and a table and extra chair!) and the room was very deep! We felt like it was the best of all worlds. It was very quiet because you didn't have the hallway traffic and had great views! Good luck with your guaranteed room!!!
lbjen Posted September 6, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 6, 2017 It will be mostly toddlers, with a few older kids since we do have a lot of homeschoolers here in TX.
