Just to point out the fallacy in this whole thing. You booked a suite at a price you couldn't afford because you hoped the price would drop to something you could afford prior to final payment. Now that you think it won't you actually want to book 2 rooms on the same cruise.

 

U.K. Customers sometimes get a bit salty about the US's cancellation policies and I finally see why. I only book cruises I plan to take at a price I'm willing to pay. We have cancelled one out of the 6 we have ever booked.

 

People booking rooms they won't actually use drives the price up for everyone. Yes, you can cancel for free the day before final payment, but it won't create any discount for anyone else until after final payment and the cancellation penalties kick in.
