Casino - how often can you cash in?

Hi,

We go on Independence of the Seas soon and I have setup a cash account for both of us.

I reckon we will have approx. $250 OBC left at the end of the cruise.

So I believe I can go to the cashier at the casino and ask for a slot voucher, put it into the machine and cash it out without playing. Then I take the new voucher back to the cashier to get real $ notes.

I presume I can, if I choose, do this more than once during the cruise? The reason I say is because on one cruise (I think a Cunard one) where things are done a bit differently in that you put your SeaPass equivalent into the slot machine and select a dollar amount to add to your card to supposedly play the slot machines and then when you want your money you goto the cashier and hand over your card. When I did this the cashier wasn't pleased i.e. I guess she knew I was cashing in OBC and said to me 'You can only do this once, you know'!

So I presume there will be no problem in the first couple of days having a trial with just $20 to make sure I get the cash back and then when I have a firmer idea of what will be left repeat one or more times?

Is it best to play one or 2 dollar’s worth to make it look not so obvious that I am cashing in OBC or don’t they care?

Since you are planning to have a "cash" type onboard account, you can get a cash advance at the casino without paying the 5% fee. I don't know of any limit to how many times you can do this. Most ship casino cashiers will just give you the cash, not the slots voucher.

Why not just cash out your balance at the concierge. I do OBC for all my cruises and what we don't spend at the end I go get cash back.

I was not aware that trhe Concierge had a supply of cash.

Whether you can get it back depends where it came from....if you put money on your account, just go to guest services, and they will refund the unspent money. If it's some sort of ship given incentive, then spend it...it's non=-refundable.
