gabbyisadog Posted August 27, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 27, 2017 arriving Casablanca in Nov on Wind. Interested in a hotel in Marrakech where concierge can arrange for car and driver to takes us from ship to,hotel with an afternoon of sightseeing. Could go to hotel and pick up guide there. The next morning need car and driver to take us to ship in Agadir for a 7 PM departure. A very nice hotel but no need for most expensive. Ship has tour but expensive $1800 each on a bus. Any thoughts appreciated. Have been to Casablanca and Agadir before.

Randyk47 Posted August 27, 2017 #3 Share Posted August 27, 2017 Are you aware of the distance between Casablanca and Marrakech? My thought exactly. Lived in Morocco for three years and Casablanca is some 2 1/2 hours and 150 miles from Marrakech.

Leave at 8 should be a there by lunch? No? Why we are spending night. Not a good plan you think?

Thinking about it some more you can probably make it without any problems. Four Seasons has a nice hotel there but there are some more boutique hotels like La Sultana Marrakech that are also quite good. The thing would be either checking with the hotel to see if they'd arrange transportation for a price or if you should book your own. Obviously making sure you get back to the ship is the most critical piece.
nowornever Posted August 27, 2017 #6 Share Posted August 27, 2017 We stayed at the Sofitel - lovely hotel with beautiful grounds and good security. Others are correct that it's quite to schlep to Casablanca. Your travel agent should be able to arrange a dependable transfer for you - sort of a boring drive however. UKCruiseJeff Posted August 28, 2017 #8 Share Posted August 28, 2017 I think a first class rail journey is better ..... and they are sort of airline seats and cheap ie less than $20'ish.
