amallison Posted August 30, 2017 #1 Share Posted August 30, 2017 Maya Chan is sold out on the day we'll be there next June and they have a long wait list. We're looking for other AI options for 6 adults. If you had to choose what would be your second choice after Maya Chan?
Rare crewsweeper Posted August 31, 2017 #2 Share Posted August 31, 2017 For a similar AI experience--exclusive, limited guests, etc., I'd suggest Almaplena. It's a little further south than MC. So less chance of turtle grass (sea grass) and a little clearer water. http://www.almaplenabeachresort.com/ MC is suggesting to people to try Blue Reef. It is on the malecon. newer place in front of a new set of condos between Pez Quadro and NoHoch Kay. https://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g499450-d3741187-r489930370-Mahahual_Beach-Mahahual_Costa_Maya_Yucatan_Peninsula.html No Hoch Kay is also AI but ownership changes recently have lead to some lesser service and a limited menu with anything else being extra. https://costamayacruiseexcursions.com/excursion/costa-maya-beach-break/ A number of beach clubs along the malecon offer AI packages, but they also take walk-ins and PAYGOs. So not exclusive.
Rare mitsugirly Posted September 4, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 4, 2017 I would personally go with Almaplena. It's an awesome and pretty secluded place with very little people there. I have a review in my signature line if you are interested. There's tons of pictures too.

RMoscon Posted January 31, 2018 #5 Share Posted January 31, 2018 We love Nohoch Kay https://costamayacruiseexcursions.com/excursion/costa-maya-beach-break/ its a gorgeous spot away from the busy areas and food and drinks were excellent there! Hi! I'm thinking about booking nohoch Kay for my family. It will be 6 adults and my 5 year old twins. Can you tell me a bit about it? Would it be good for kids their age? Is there music? Kayaks? Water toys? Thank you:)

Rare crewsweeper Posted January 31, 2018 #7 Share Posted January 31, 2018 Hi! I'm thinking about booking nohoch Kay for my family. It will be 6 adults and my 5 year old twins. Can you tell me a bit about it? Would it be good for kids their age? Is there music? Kayaks? Water toys? Thank you:) My understanding is that the ownership/management of Nohoch Kay has gone downhill over the past year or so. There used to be a wider menu selection (now limited) and more inclusive drinks. The beach itself isn't really any different from any other beach along the malecon. No real separation. They can arrange for kayaks, etc., but its extra charge. No music anywhere. Maybe YAYA's or Big Moma's have music, but nothing live. No watertoys. No inflatables anywhere along the malecon last time we were there. For your size group, you're better off at Blue Kay on the northern end. Also check out Tropicante, where the service and food and drink are outstanding, but ala carte. However, it is in the middle of the malecon and can be crowded if 2 or 3 ships are in port. Gomez56 Posted February 2, 2018 #9 Share Posted February 2, 2018 We're going in a couple of weeks, like you Maya Chan was already booked so we booked Pez Quadro which was one of the places recommended by the guy from MC. We'll see how it goes......
