I'm not so sure the tip was the determining factor. On RC my son left his ipod on the table in the buffet at breakfast. We figured it was gone and talked about being more careful. He went to guest services, described where he left it and when. Low and behold one of the servers had turned it in to the manager, who also turned it in. When asked for the names, guest services couldn't tell us. I asked one of the buffet managers and she didn't know either, and refused any notion of a tip without knowing who to give it to. To this day I have no idea who turned it in. I know it's hard to believe, but there are still plenty of people who simply do the right thing. Rewards aside.

Yes still honest people around. I left my phone in restroom at Atlantis Palms in Dubai. By the time I realised it was missing, it was no longer there. Reported it to lost property and thought it was gone as we had an early flight to Capetown next morning. At 10 pm Palms lost property messaged my daughter, phone was handed in. They met our cab at the door and escorted us through the deserted public areas to the lost property area, apologised for delay, a cleaner had not handed it in until the end of her shift. I was just pleased to get it back, so much info on there.

Call 1 800 CARNIVAL and select number 3 for the Guest Care Department.

There was a thread a little while back of someone leaving something in their cabin or safe and they eventually did get it back. Sorry I can't remember the details.

I forgot my I Pad when I disembarked, it was found and returned to me, it took quite a long time, but I did get it back.

  • 6 months later...
While we did not have anything of monetary value left on ship, we did have one very, VERY important Pooh Bear left in the cabin. This was not noticed until we were at the airport. We called the Cruise line and they took all our information. The trip home was not ideal as Pooh is LIFE. Some snacks got us through until nap time and on the drive from the airport to home, we were called by the cruise line. Pooh was found!!! He would be turned over to the home office and would be sent home from there. We requested an overnight either FedEx or UPS, paid an upcharge (gladly paid) and he arrived safely.

All that for a Pooh Bear.

I hope you are reunited with your IPad. Our tale of Apple woe, is from a plane not a ship, and we were never reunited.

This gives me hope!! I found this thread through a "lost item" search .We got off the Legend on Tuesday, when we got home we realized that we left my son's stuffed animal in the cabin. I filed a report right away. Now we wait and hope for a happy ending .

Be proactive. Check the port also, many times they will send lost items down from the ship to the terminal to ship out or hold.

I understand the heartache of losing a stuffed animal worse than losing an iPad that can be replaced ... I had also reached out to John heald on Facebook u can have him try to check he got back to me in less than 2 days

Thanks for the suggestion, I did post on his page and the Carnival page and so far the responses have been "you have to let the lost item process work". So I wait.

I was on the cruise a couple year ago, we were watching sail away on lido deck. A big group stand near my family, after they left, I saw their camera on the table, so I stand there waiting for them to come back, but they didn't, I found a crew member told him the big group was there, and they left it behind, I hope he turn it in GS. Don't judge me, I was worry if I took it to guess service, other people may think I'm stealing it.

My concern at this point, being early in the game, is was he even found in our room or mixed up in the laundry and lord only knows what would happen in that case.

If he was found in our room and processes properly then I have hope.
