Giantfan13 Posted September 26, 2017 #1 Share Posted September 26, 2017 We are doing a TA on the Jewel of the Sea this Nov.-- Rome to Puerto Rico. We are flying home the same day we disembark on Southwest. Southwest requires you to check in 24 hours before to gain your seat assignment, but we will still be at sea at that time. We always try to board with the A group so we always try to check in as soon as it becomes available. Does RCI allow anyone to 'check-in' while at sea without buying the internet package? If not, can we buy a one day (or even less) package, and then use that to check in as required? Anyone done this before? Cheers Len
Hey Tina Posted September 26, 2017 #2 Share Posted September 26, 2017 Not really what you asked but you can buy Early Bird check in from Southwest which automatically checks you in 36 hours before the flight.
Clarea Posted September 26, 2017 #3 Share Posted September 26, 2017 For $20, you can buy a 24-hour unlimited internet package. Some ships also offer a shorter, lower-cost package on the last day for airline check-in, but this is not universal. One way to do it for free is to ask one of your friends at home to check you in. Then print your boarding pass at the airport.
Kamloops50 Posted September 26, 2017 #4 Share Posted September 26, 2017 You might not going to Puerto Rico this November. PR was almost totally destroyed by hurricane Irma and Maria.

payitforward Posted September 26, 2017 #6 Share Posted September 26, 2017 I would suggest purchasing the Early Bird Check In. Consider it a fee paid to enjoy your cruise and not have to worry about checking in.
jamesr3939 Posted September 27, 2017 #7 Share Posted September 27, 2017 Yep, EB is the way to go. You get better numbers than even trying to do it yourself. Just buy EB ASAP as the boarding number is based on when you buy EB.
trihawks1 Posted September 27, 2017 #8 Share Posted September 27, 2017 Definitely pay for early bird check in. I always do this especially for a cruise. That was 36 hrs prior to flight you get checked in and assigned your spot. Sent from my iPad using Forums
