mcrcruiser Posted October 19, 2017 #1 Share Posted October 19, 2017 We are thinking about using Splendor for a cruise to Hawaii from long Beach California :). What is your opinion about the food quality ,service ,activities & condition of this ship for a Hawaii cruise ? TIA
SadieN Posted October 19, 2017 #2 Share Posted October 19, 2017 Only issue, for us, is it’s too big for Kauai. Sent from my iPhone using Forums
rjl1977 Posted October 19, 2017 #3 Share Posted October 19, 2017 What kind of sea day activities do they have. That's my only concern since almost half the cruise is sea days
SadieN Posted October 19, 2017 #4 Share Posted October 19, 2017 Been to Hawaii twice on the Miracle. You’ll only be bored if you want to be. There’ll be port lectures, tons of trivia, lots of pool activities, music, fly-on entertainment, movies, special Journeys things. Sotermarler Posted October 19, 2017 #6 Share Posted October 19, 2017 I haven't sailed Carnival yet just the NCL Away Class, but I was looking at the Splendor for a Mexican Riviera 7 day. The pictures I have seen looks like she is old and outdated, but other than that Is she still in good repair? BoDidly Posted October 19, 2017 #7 Share Posted October 19, 2017 Anything longer than a five day make sure you get a balcony with any luck away from smokers. . Your wanting and needing fresh air in your cabin.

sassyredhat Posted October 20, 2017 #9 Share Posted October 20, 2017 We have been booked on the Splendor to Hawaii for a long time..:D We are booked for Oct 2018. We sailed Splendor a few years ago, when she was in Long Beach. DS wanted CCL to Hawaii for the kids programs, which I understand are pretty good. I had no complaints before, except having to walk past the smoky casino to the photo session. Patti

muffin Posted October 22, 2017 #12 Share Posted October 22, 2017 (edited) Have done Hawaii on the Splendor. Great trip. Always amazed when I see people stating that balconies or suites are a must. Of course they offer a certain dimension to the cruise, but unless you have a true mental health issue about no windows, insides are most acceptable to us.There are hundreds of places to enjoy the views and outdoors in public areas. We belong to the many who want more cruises, rather than more expensive cruises. As retired folk, we have the luxury of time. I fully appreciate that there are many who disagree, but I would ask that when they say a balcony is mandatory for enjoyment, that they add the caveat “for me”. You cannot presume to know the asking cruise critic member. IMHO Edited October 22, 2017 by muffin Spelling

DH gets horrible headaches from the AC in enclosed areas. DS, DIL and DGD have an ocean view, because they are paying their own. :p Hawaii is my happy place.
