Acronymns - What do they really mean or are they?

Being LikeKnew here, I have found the acronyms confusing, though I am trying to learn. Discovering the convenience of these short cuts has caused me great enjoyment and especially the DW (Dear Wife) and DH (Dear Husband).

It occurred to me that the DW would certainly cover most of my pet names for my spouse and many of her emotional swings during my correspondence. Let’s say DW could mean Darn Wife when she is pestering me to get off the computer. DW could be Disowned Wife when I’m in the mood and she is not; and she is Discontented Wife when she is angry with me. Dumb Wife works when she has decided not to speak with me, such as if she reads this post, then she would become Detestable and Disconnected.

Now, looking at the DH acronym, I see distinct possibilities for all of my DW’s endearment toward me, her Darling Husband. I am often Debonair, Dashing, Daunting or just plain Dazzling. I know she so often sees me as her Daring Husband and sometimes as the Distinguished Husband.:D

Oh, yeah, I forgot, she is Desperate Wife when she is in the mood and I AM NOT (fat chance of that happening).;)

Well, enough rampling. Where is a list of what these are intended to mean, and; have any of you considered how some other of the silly, helpful and ambiguous strings of letters might have alter-egos? IMHO, OP, TA, DWPA…

I don't know as there's a "list" per se....but here's some...

IMHO-In My Humble Opinion

OP-Original Poster

TA-Travel Agent

ROTFL-Rolling On The Floor Laughing

DD-Darling Daughter

DS-Darling Son

SIL-Son in Law

DIL-Daughter in Law

Hope these help...I'm sure someone somewhere has a full "list".....

Considering the inevitable delays which arise whenever escorting my wife anywhere, it is clear to me that DWPA must be an acronym for "Darned Wife is Peeing Again!"

You've got it wrong! It's Darling Wife Perfectly Attired:D

IMHO - said to mean, In My Humble Opinion, usually should be read as In My Haughty Opinion as that is what many who use the phrase really think. :)

And as my mother would refer to my father, Damn Husband, IIRC (If I Re-Call)!

JK (just kidding) of course ...
