Would someone please tell me about the coffee on board? I drink LOTS of coffee everyday. I love strong dark roast coffee, French Roast, Sumatra etc.. I do not like the fancy coffee or latte type of drinks. Is this something I will be able to get whenever I want? /Would it be covered under Cheers? Thank You

You are probably not going to enjoy the coffee on the ship, but the Coffee Shop is probably the best option, and, yes, Cheers covers that coffee.

Coffee on Lido is barely drinkable, but room service and the dining room are a bit better.

No they took away her ability to buy alcohol and cigarettes when they found out she was pregnant. I know that most people think it is ALWAYS bad for pregnant women to drink but my wife regularly puts away a liter of alcohol per day when she is not pregnant and smokes 2-3 packs per day so her quitting during pregnancy would be worse for her and the baby than continuing according to her OB-GYN and her brother and dad who are both doctors (her brother is a DO though so take his opinion for what it is :halo:). Carnival shouldn't be making health care decisions for people. What's next, forced vaccinations for people? Forced boob jobs and liposuctions? Sex changes? It's a slippery slope.

A litre a day? I hope you're not serious. There might be a problem here.

That has to be the dumbest s**t I've ever heard in my life. I feel bad for the baby being born into such mass stupidity. There's no way these statements aren't a joke ......

DW does not drink so it would not be cost effect for us. Now if Carnival were to change so I would be the only one that had to purchase it, now that would be a different story.

I'd like to see Carnival change their Cheers Program to "One person in the Cabin Buys the Package---15 Drink Maximum Still Applies"!! In the end, what difference would it make? If you choose to "share" with your cabin mate, you still only get the 15 drinks per day! This would be perfect for those couple where one drinks---the other drinks very little! I think someday Carnival will change their drink policy. Aren't drinks included on Norwegian cruises?

LOL.....a thread like this morphs into a guy talking about the health benefits of his pregnant wife to continue her liter of liquor a day habit and the Sherlock's who 'don't drink alcohol' giving the opinion the package isn't worth it....well no bleep....you don't drink.

LOL....I think you said what many were thinking on the post...the person that posted this is known to be controversial and contrary in many of their posts, mostly on purpose to cause an uproar...more than likely a joke or made up like normal with this poster and most people on CC regularly ignore this one....if you noticed not many people responded to this statement....

Unless you get 4 $ 10 mix drinks a day, and some coffees, water, it’s not worth it IMHO. Unless you drink a combo of drinks equal around $50 a day

You are just giving the cruise line your money.

If you have a drink every two to three hours, wine for diner drinks at te show you should easily get to five drinks

Just throwing my 2 cents in :) We don't do cheers because it wouldn't be a good value for us, but whatever. I wanted to say for any new cruisers that the water on board the ship is perfectly fine. They serve it in the dining rooms and there are water dispensers at the Buffett, so you do not need to buy water if you don't want to.....just FYI.

Boy it's sure great to be in a community that value free thought and scientific discovery....pause... not. There is a bunch of sheeple in this thread who can't think for themselves or accept when the medical community has changed its tune. I bet a bunch of you are still putting butter on burns and believe you can turn fat into muscle. SMH

It's her life who am I to say anything? Do you also say negative stuff about people who post about their eating habits? I'm sure there are many "unhealthy" behaviors you could critique in here. Keep your comments about my wife's health to yourself, thanks in advance for your cooperation.

Hey, you put it out there, so it was fair game to comment. You don't want folks to comment, then keep your wife's behaviors to yourself. The entire CC community thanks you in advance for your cooperation.

I don't believe his story at all. He's trying to get a rise out of you, and he did.

OP asked for personal thoughts on the cheers package. I am sorry that my comment about being a non drinker is the wrong kind of personal thought.

There's a bunch of snowflakes in here who hate free speech and free thought and think that people shouldn't express views that don't reinforce their own. We're really losing our way when a person asks for thoughts and people jump on others for giving their thoughts. I don't know if they are trolls or ignorant but either way they have the potential to kill the free flow of information and ideas that this forum is known for.

Don't worry about those people Doggielover!

Because it's not a punch card of 15 drinks per day; it's an all inclusive drink package for one person which includes all you would like to drink non alcoholic beverages and up to 15 alcoholic beverages a day.

It would be like a buffet limiting a person to 2 hours in the restaurant and 2 people going in and "splitting" a buffet because after all, 1 person is only going to eat 1 plate of food quickly (20 minutes) because they aren't really hungry and the other person is so they get the other hour and 40 minutes to eat.

Norwegian frequently offers "free drinks" as a perk - though you still have to pay the gratuities and not every will select that offer. It's like Celebrity's "go big, go better, go best" package - you can select free drinks as your perk but not everyone on the ship will have free drinks.

We just returned from a 5 day cruise on the Ecstasy. We decided since it was only 5 days, we would purchase Cheers to see how we liked it. It was great to not have a surprise at the end, although our total wasn't $0, due to all the tips we added to our drinks. Also, there were times I was too full from food to drink, or too full from drinks to eat. Of course, then, the second to last day, my husband made good use of the plan and had to use the last day to recover (drank nothing but water!) We did each have a coffee each day and a few bottled waters, but I'm pretty sure we only broke even on a couple days. Next time, we will just budget enough (that we shouldn't have to think about it ) and just enjoy the cruise!

This is what we plan to do too. It seems like the best of both worlds from the consumer side.

Here's my thoughts- I resisted on the Cheers package because, like many, I thought it would be hard to "break even". Not only is it not hard to break even (and not be drunk 24/7), it's fun! It's fun to try new drinks and not feel like you HAVE to drink it because it costs a ridiculous amount of money. We fell in love with the Chocolate Mocha Getaway and even had it for breakfast! I would have never tried it because mocha translate to coffee to me and I don't like coffee- but it was nothing like coffee. It's a milkshake basically without the extra calories of ice cream.

But speaking of coffee- my BF loves those specialty coffees- and those prices??!! No worries anymore. They're included so he can have his every day without breaking the bank.

I'm a cold caffeine person- Diet Coke is my poison- now I don't have to shlepp in all those can drinks- I just order it whenever I want. Free.

Someone mentioned the water available for free on the ship- yes, it's true, and it's not bad. I'm not a bottled water snob but it's great knowing I can get a bottled water to take to my lounger or have available and not have to wait for a refill. I used to be one of those that brought an empty bottle and filled it at the restaurants - ugh, yes. Took forever and clogged up the line. No worries now. AND get to take a few off the ship now and no extra charge for that.

We love the MDR- basking in someone waiting on us hand/foot and NOT being rushed? Heaven. Now we can relax with wine, before, during, and after, if we want. Again, not worrying if we don't like the wine/port that we got because we paid "so much" for it.

I buy the Cheers because it's just another way to make my cruise fun- and not have to worry about a surprise bill at the end.

My only issue is that I have to spread my family out over three cabins to get the Cheers people all in one cabin. That's stupid- we are all still going to hang out together- what does cabin occupancy have to do with anything? We're not buying the drinks in our room! If people are going to cheat- it has nothing to do with who they're rooming with. My friends and family would still buy the package if we were in with people that don't want it regardless.

I realize that there are plenty of people that don't appreciate the package- I'm just giving my opinion that I have had it on my last three cruises and every one that I went with thought it was the better way to cruise, albeit for a few, not the "best deal" they still said they would choose it again for the fun of trying new things and being able to order a drink (alcohol, coffee, milk shake, soda, or bottled water) whenever they wanted and not have to fret over it (or try to bargain with themselves about the cost). You want it- GET IT- and go back to relaxing and having fun.

As an aside, I went on another cruise with some gambler friends of mine and decided not to get the Cheers expecting that I would "win/qualify" for the "Drinks on Us" card. Which I did- almost $500 later- you do the math. LOL And that card is only good WHILE you're sitting gambling- I couldn't even go to Casino bar to get a drink.

I realize that the Cheers package seems like a lot of money to fork out but now the Cheers is an auto budget into my trip cost in the one less thing to worry about category. CHEERS! Or as we say- CLANK!
