I have not been on RC ships for about 7 years.

I will be on Symphony, which will have a huge amount of passengers.

I have MTD, dining, with other cruiselines, we would line up in the non reservation line and get a buzzer.

Are there 2 lines, - reservations, - non reservations?

With the Symphony and the crowds, should we make dining reservations?

If example, we make 6pm reservation, and that day don't go until 6:30 or later, should we say we had reservation for 6pm or go to the non reservation line?

How long to they hold a reservation?

I have been on the Oasis once and Allure twice. So based on my experience ...

There are 2 lines, one for reservations and other for non reservations. The lines are fairly long so I would advise making a reservation.

The passenger profile on Med cruises, especially ones from sailing from Barcelona is going to be different from the Caribbean sailings. So difficult to predict what the popular times will be. The timings of the shows is also a factor so might wary from day to day.

On our cruises, we tend to mix it up by trying different venues so only ate in the MDR a couple of times on each cruise.

Symphony may of course have totally different systems in place.

One final point, if you are in a suite then you don't need to make a reservation or stand in the line. A great perk as you walk past all the others standing in the line, check-in at a dedicated desk and get seated straight away.
