Immigration in Goa and Mumbai

Has anyone any recent experience of arriving in Goa and Mumbai? Have organised private excursions in these ports and wondering how long to allow to get through immigration, etc.

 

Tried searching forum, but nothing specific.

 

If anything like bureaucracy in applying for visas, might have to leave ship as soon as it docks.

I can't recollect any delay in getting off the ship in any of the Indian ports. Immigration officers boarded our ship in Sri Lanka and the immigration procedures were done face to face while at sea between Sri Lanka and the first Indian port

Although not with Celebrity (P&O) seem to remember we were out of the mombai port pretty quickly,have to use the bus to the exit gate were the guards let you out. We had a private tour arranged and they met us just the other side of the gate.

Like many places around the world the arrival experience can vary.

 

I have arrived to Mumbai three different times and the timing varied. It can be very short or it can take awhile.

 

For Goa I arrived once and it was fairly speedy but again that was just one time.
