Navy and Cruising

Oldest son is the opposite of most folks here. He started cruising with us when he was 13 and had 9 cruises under his belt when he graduated from high school and went off to college at the US Merchant Marine Academy. He literally sailed around the world during his Sea Year, and after graduation decided to take a Navy commission. He's 4 1/2 years in now, a lieutenant, and served on a destroyer in Japan and a patrol craft in Bahrain before returning stateside to get his Master's degree. He has predictable vacations now, but when asked whether he would like to cruise with us his answer is "no," even though he knows what cruising is all about. He'd rather do a land-based vacation.
