bear803 Posted November 12, 2017 #1 Share Posted November 12, 2017 Is it appropriate for male and female tourist to wear shorts while site seeing in Havana?
bcaha Posted November 12, 2017 #2 Share Posted November 12, 2017 Yes. And I also suggest sneakers - much easier for all of the walking than sandals.
bear803 Posted November 12, 2017 Author #3 Share Posted November 12, 2017 Yes. And I also suggest sneakers - much easier for all of the walking than sandals. Thank you. we had dinner last night with friends that are cruising with us and surprised when one mentioned they read that shorts were a no no in Havana. You made my husband very happy.:D
bcaha Posted November 12, 2017 #4 Share Posted November 12, 2017 You said for sight seeing.... There may be restaurants where shorts are not appropriate for dinner. And I believe they are a "no" for the Tropicana.
Debbie1029 Posted November 12, 2017 #5 Share Posted November 12, 2017 Shorts are also a “no” for the Hotel Nacional’s Cabaret Parisian Sent from my iPad using Forums
ellbon Posted November 13, 2017 #6 Share Posted November 13, 2017 I like sundresses but shorts is fine. Who would go to dinner in shorts anywhere.
IWantToLiveOverTheSea Posted November 13, 2017 #7 Share Posted November 13, 2017 I'm not cruising on Royal Caribbean, but I did read their info on Cuba. They state that shorts are appropriate for sightseeing. I suppose there might possibly be a church or something like that where more modest apparel is required. Havingfun2010 Posted November 13, 2017 #8 Share Posted November 13, 2017 Depends on what you are doing! If it sightseeing during the day, than yes, shorts are fine. If you are staying overnight and going to a show or entertainment, than you might need long pants.

SuzCruise Posted January 2, 2018 #10 Share Posted January 2, 2018 Wanted to add our experience in case it might be helpful. Husband and I both wore shorts (nice khaki shorts and nice tops) for sightseeing. We ere there over Thanksgiving and it was HOT! So I would definitely recommend shorts or a sundress. At night we went to a nice restaurant we had made reservations for in advance. Hubby wore a Tommy Bahama shirt, similar to what he wore during the day but perhaps a bit dressier and I wore a sundress. Many people were dressed the same. A lot of places you will go have limited air conditioning or are open air, so dress for the temperature. Sent from my iPad using Forums
jdvmd Posted May 3, 2018 #11 Share Posted May 3, 2018 It is going to be hot. We wore nothing but shorts and T-shirts for me. Polo shirt for hubby.
