Sapphire to LAX

WE took the Princess shuttle but beware you may have to wait until the bus fills up. It could be fast or then again it might be awhile. Just depends on when your flight is. There is always Super Shuttle. They do have a web site.

Cab or shuttle? Advice?

2 people = take a shuttle, but cab may be cheaper during off peak hours.

2 people during rush hour = take the shuttle.

4 people = take a cab. If you have lots of luggage, get a mini-van sized cab.

Princess transfer for 2 will be more expensive than the cab fare for sure.

There are 2 major shuttle bus services: Supershuttle and Primetime shuttle. They all have websites where you can check prices. I've seen other shuttle services mentioned. Search for "shuttles" in this forum and you'll find many more posts about this.

Depends on what you need timewise. We ended up with an 11 a.m. flight out of LAX back in Nov. due to the airlines change of flight time so we asked for early debarkation tags and grabbed a taxi-took only about 20 minutes but it was the weekend. Our transfer to the ship was part of the package of our pre cruise hotel but only reconfirmed our opinion that we don't like the charter bus thing and would rather take a taxi.

Waited for a good 30 minutes or more for supershuttle to fill up. I wasn't in a hurry so it really didn't matter. If you are in any kind of a hurry, take a cab. There was only supposed to be 7 in the shuttle and we ended up squeezing in 9 or 10.

We were on the 12/3 sailing of the Sapphire.

There were 4 of us. We took the Supershuttle to the ship since we got in around 11:30 am. It cost $54 plus tip. We got on the shuttle about 12PM. We were the first ones on. At the next stop he picked up another couple, which made 6 of us. The van is supposed to be a 7 passenger van. However, the driver made 2 complete loops around the airport looking for other passengers, without success, before we left for the ship. Even then we got to the ship around 1PM.

Since we had an early flight back home, we opted for Execucar. We had arranged for a 9:30AM pickup. We were in the 8:30AM group leaving the ship, which actually got off at 8:45AM. We picked up our luggage, went thru customs and were at the curb by 9:15AM. We saw the Suppershuttle guy and he called the Execucar driver who showed up about 5 to 10 minutes later. We were at the airport by 9:45AM. It cost us $66 plus tip.
