Clam Shells on Half Moon Cay

Yes, Carnival does rent clamshells. Last I knew they are $19.99 per day. There is a little blue building (Information Desk) on the island as you make your way from the tender to the beach area. You can rent a clamshell there.

Have a great cruise!

There are a lot of nice shaded areas near Cabanas 9, 10, 11. You can pull up a lounge chair there and not have to worry about renting a clamshell.

You can also bypass the rental desk, go straight to the beach area and see if the shaded areas will work for you and your group. If not, there are plenty of beach workers that will set up a clamshell for you. Just flag one down, or start trying to set up a clamshell on your own -- they will be by shortly once they see you setting it up.

You will need to provide your Sail & Sign card and sign the receipt.

Thanks for the responses! My friend suffers from skin cancer and even with protective clothing I know she would go back to the ship if there’s no shade. Do we need to get there early for dibs or are there plenty to go around?

I think it depends on when you plan on going. I have been in the fall months and there has NEVER been a shortage of clamshells for renting. I would assume in the hotter months, it may be more competitive to get a clamshell.
