Football games while in port??

We'll be in port on Christmas Eve and would like to catch the football game, would the ship have them on or would the port have a sports bar that may have them? We'll be in Yucatan (Progreso).

You might be able to catch the game on your cabin's TV, providing you get a good satellite signal. You could also check to see if the game you're interested in is on the TV in the sports bar.

There is usually at least one or two channels on the in room cabin playing sports; as well as anything they play in public venues on the ship. So you may be able to catch a football game. The trouble is if there is a specific game you are looking for.

No clue about Progreso, But had no problem in Cozumel two years ago. We were there the day of the ND-Ohio State bowl game (may have been New Years Eve...not 100% sure), googled "US Sports Bar", came up with a really cool, local place place. Slightly off the beaten path, but taxi took us right from port to the bar & back. Quite a few Americans in there, looking for the same thing. Just like being in a US sports bar...but it was open air, and the food & beer were Mexican. Really fun time.

the ship will have whatever games are available out of the market the direct TV feed is using. it's a good bet it will be the Miami feed. so you will be limited to the NFL blackout rules for the Miami market. i looked at the dolphins schedule and they have an away game at 1pm on Christmas eve. so because they have an away game they will show the dolphins game on CBS at 1 pm and should show the regional national game on fox which should be an NFC game at 1pm. for that week it looks like CBS has the single schedule and fox has the double header schedule which means there will be 1 4pm game on fox. don't know what team you are trying to catch. but the week of the game(usually around Wednesday the broadcasting map will come out) you can go to a site like nflspinzone.com and look at what color Miami is on the broadcast maps and it will tell you what games will be broadcast in that region.
